Chapter 10
The day our experiment officially ended, my parents, Alvis, went home.
While out sightseeing, I found myself walking past the apartment complex where Evan and I had
once lived.
When we first moved in together, my feelings had been a mix of excitement and apprehension.
I’d spent weeks ordering things online and shopping in stores to fill our space.
Now it stood empty, the building looking somehow darker and more worn down.An elderly neighbor noticed me standing there and came over to chat.
I asked a few more questions and learned what had happened in the years since I’d left.
After that day, Evan had become mentally unstable.
He cut ties with all his friends and even paid someone in prison to “take care of them” properly.
As for Ravena, he personally exposed how she had bribed her way into becoming head nurse, then testified against her in court. She had been involved in taking photos, spreading videos, and providing access to illegal drugs. Once convicted, she lost three years of her life to prison.
Shortly after, Evan turned himself in to the authorities and pled guilty to his crimes.Just days ago, after both siblings were released, they meet each other here.
The once close like family had become bitter enemies. Ravena and her recently released friends
cornered Evan.
During the argument, someone pulled out a knife.
Evan was severely injured and remained in a coma at the hospital. Ravena and her friends took off,
and the cops put out an APB.
The sky gradually darkened as the elderly lady pulled her jacket tighter around herself.
“Those folks are nothing but trouble. They all did time for porn and public humiliation–filming someone without consent and spreading it around. Now they’re back on the streets… There’s a

“Go home”
Several months later. I was traveling for another research propper.im fhe car, some interthN www discussing recen news.
“Hey, you know that stabbing case from a few months ago where the perpetrators fled” Apparently. they caught them! One of the women was even pregnant! When they arrested her, she was completely unhinged. I’ve got photos–check this outt
Everyone gathered around to look.
“Will they go to prison for this?”
“Not totally sure. That woman’ll probably end up in a psych ward, but the rest? They’re definitely doing time. Serves them right. The guy they stabbed hasn’t woken up. He’s basically brain–dead now. His family completely gave up on him. Just dumped him in some care facility. I actually know the place… and yeah, when the staff get pissed off, they’ve been known to rough up the patients.”
“Wow, that’s completely degrading.”
“Yeah… Hey, Professor Devere, did you know about this case?”
I kept my eyes focused on the road, feeling nothing in particular.
“I didn’t before, but now that you’ve told me, I do.”
Maybe all of this… is just karma.

saying that criminals always return to the scene, you know? Listen honey, it’s getting dark get home now before something nasty happens!”
After thanking the elderly lady and leaving the complex, I exited the neighborhood.
