Corinne was walking down the last step and saw Jeremy too, but she quickly looked away.
"Help me thank him for the invitation, but I have something to do later, so I'm afraid I can't join you guys," said Corinne politely.
Annie was a little frustrated by the refusal. "Corinne, what's the matter with you? Why won't you at least come have lunch with Uncle Jeremy?"
Corinne did not answer her question. She simply smiled and said, "Annie, remember I told you to treat me as a friend and not your aunt?"
Annie refused. "But you're still my aunt, right?"
"Annie, you should just do as she says," said Jeremy coldly. He had his window rolled down again.
Annie had no choice but to listen since Jeremy had spoken. She pouted sadly and said, "Okay. Fine. But would you at least have lunch with us? If not, I can get Uncle Jeremy to drop you off at the place you want to go."
Corinne shook her head. "No, it's fine."
She walked around Annie with the intention to leave.
"Get in the car, Miss Corinne. We should finish what we started. It's time we end things properly," said Jeremy emotionlessly.
'He's right. We should end things properly,' thought Corinne. 'Looks like he's ready to move on from the relationship. Heh! I was a fool to think he'd be hung up on me. Guess I went into hiding for six months for nothing.'

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....

my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
