Sophia casually put her lipstick back into her bag. When she looked up, she saw Corinne looking at her in confusion.
This caused her to laugh. "What? You don't believe me?"
Corinne threw the tissue she used to wipe her hand into the trash can. "What makes you think I'd believe you? After all, no wife would wish for her husband to be reunited with his mistress, no?"
Sophia shrugged nonchalantly, but she suddenly nodded. "To be honest, I do mind a little. But I like to think in the long term. You'll forever be the one that got away for Jeremy if you never turned up. He'd forever miss you and think of the what-ifs no matter how much I try to make him forget you.
"However, if you guys get back together, reality would do the work for me. You'll start getting sick of each other, then Jeremy will stop loving you and come back to me so we can live happily ever after. By the way, we have a saying in our country. 'The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.'"
"Oh, I get what you're thinking now." Corinne was actually quite impressed by Sophia's intelligence. She was evidently more manipulative and more transparent than Anya.
Sophia smiled. "It's not wrong for me to think that way, right? I don't care how many women Jeremy's been with. All I can care about is which woman gets to grow old with him, and I have a feeling it's going to be me. So you see, Miss Corinne, you're nothing but one of the many women who's just passing through his life."
Corinne smiled, too. "You're right. You're probably the only woman who's willing to grow old with him. Even if it's not you, it won't be me because I have no interest in that old fart whatsoever."
Sophia blocked Corinne from leaving. "But you're carrying his kid inside of your belly!" She then touched her belly without asking for permission.
Corinne immediately stepped back with alarm. "This baby belongs to me alone. He has nothing to do with the baby at all!"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
