After finally returning home, Melody spent most of her time accompanying Beatrice. Beatrice was the first person in her life to treat her so well, and Melody wanted to do everything she could for her.
After dinner, Melody escorted Beatrice back to her room and retired to her own. It had been a while since she was in this room, and it felt somewhat unfamiliar. This was not her room, after all. She did not belong here, and this place did not belong to her.
Melody stood at the doorway, silent for a moment.
After taking a shower and changing into her clothes, she lay down on the bed. Despite not having slept well the night before, Melody felt exhausted, yet she could not seem to fall asleep no matter how hard she tried. Tossing and turning in bed for a while, she still could not find rest, and the sound of a car outside indicated that Lucas had returned.
As Melody was about to get up, she remembered what Stella had said to her earlier in the day. A surge of anger ignited within her, and gritting her teeth, she lay back down on the bed, closing her eyes.
When Lucas entered the room, he saw Melody lying on the bed, unmoving. It seemed she had fallen asleep.
After taking a shower and returning to the room, Lucas lay down on the bed as well, moving carefully to avoid disturbing Melody, who he believed was already asleep. However, as soon as he settled down, he heard irregular and uneasy breathing beside him. It was clear she was not asleep; she was pretending.
Lucas felt somewhat displeased. What was the meaning of this? She clearly was not asleep and was just pretending. Did she not want to see him?
The man reclined toward Melody, closely nestled by her side. Sensing Lucas' proximity, Melody felt uneasy. Resisting his closeness, she shifted away. Her resistance intensified, causing Lucas to feel even more uncomfortable. His expression darkened as he moved closer once again.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
