"It's been several days since we last saw each other. Don't you have any desire to see me?"
Lucas stared straight at Melody, who had not lifted her head since he entered the room. When she heard him ask such shameless questions, she trembled with anger.
'How dare he ask if I missed him? He was cozying up to Thalia last night, and today he's here to cozy up to me too? Does he think he can get both of us?'
Melody, filled with rage, lifted her head and locked eyes with Lucas in the mirror.
"This is the first time I have seen you this shameless, Lucas. Even though we only have a contractual relationship, please show some respect. I'm not the kind of woman you think I am. If you insist on behaving like this, I'll have to terminate our contract early!"
Lucas frowned, not understanding what Melody was saying, but he got the gist of it. Melody had the intention to end their relationship. Angered, he grabbed Melody's chin roughly, forcing her to turn her head back.
"What did you say? I dare you to repeat what you just said. Don't you think you're being too cocky? I've paid off all your debts, and now you want to go back to being a high and mighty actress. What do you take me for? A fool for you to play with?"
Lucas was furious. He sneered at Melody. "If I were you, I'd face reality instead of being so indecisive. Why don't you just go back to living your pathetic life if you want to protect your pride?"

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....

my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
