Quinn turned her left cheek toward Thalia, revealing two red marks. However, that was not the main issue. What did it mean that the woman was the daughter of a big shot?
"Are you saying you got involved with the local mob?" Thalia asked.
"How should I know?! If she had just slapped me and left it at that, it would've been one thing, but... She said she'd have her dad's guys deal with me. Thalia, what should I do? I'm terrified. What if you come back and I'm gone forever?" she sobs.
Thalia, feeling even more irritated after Quinn's explanation, said, "Stop crying for a moment. Did that guy tell you he was single when you met him?"
Quinn hesitated to answer, "I think he did. I was pretty drunk at the time. You know me; I don't pay attention to others once I'm inebriated."
Thalia felt her temples pulsating. "I warned you countless times not to get drunk outside, but you never listened. Look what happened. You didn't even know if that guy was single or not, and you went out and messed around with him. You brought this upon yourself."
Quinn called Thalia seeking advice from her closest friend. To her surprise, Thalia did not offer any suggestions and instead scolded her. Quinn felt her anger rising.
"It's not like I did it on purpose! I wouldn't have gone out and messed around with someone else if you hadn't left me behind to go back to the country alone. Now you're just fine, cozying up to your Lucas, ignoring even your best friend!"
Thalia found Quinn's logic both strange and amusing. What did her going out drinking and messing around have to do with her? How could Quinn turn the tables on her so confidently?
"What do you want me to do? You've already stirred up trouble, so what do you expect me to do? Aren't you just calling me to vent?"
Suddenly, Quinn noticed a change in Thalia's expression on the screen of her phone. She did not immediately speak up, but after observing for a moment, she heard Thalia say to a man beside her, "Oh... I'm just on the phone with a friend."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
