Unlike Melody, Lucas was not one to change his mind easily. Ignoring Wendy's pleas, he dialed the emergency number.
He was actually quite amused at Wendy's desperation. "You brought all of this on yourself. Next time you better consider whether you can handle the consequences before doing something shady!"
Wendy knew that begging would not work on Lucas, so she immediately changed her tact. "I'll continue to expose Melody online if you call the police. We've lived under the same roof for so many years after all, you know. What I say will always carry more credibility than others. If you don't want to see your beloved woman tarnished, then stop what you're doing right now!"
Lucas paused and scrutinized the woman in front of him; she was indeed much bolder than he imagined.
However, Wendy had forgotten one thing—it would be very easy for Lucas to make sure she would never work in the entertainment industry again. In this world, no one could threaten him.
"Please. I know what I did was wrong, but as long as you don't call the police, I promise I won't smear Melody online anymore." Wendy even promised to clear Melody's name.
As unwilling as she was to do that, she knew that once she offended Lucas, her future in the entertainment industry would be ruined. Not wanting the incident to affect Melody's mood any further, Lucas chose not to escalate the situation, and the matter was resolved for the time being.

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
