Lucas frowned and stepped in front of Melody. "Have you not learned your lesson from last time? Is that why you dare to appear before us again, shamelessly spreading rumors?"
Confronted by the imposing figure of the man, Wendy could not help but tremble. However, the thought of such a fine man willingly acting as Melody's lackey made her feel disgusted.
"Don't you find it disgusting to be with this woman? She doesn't even care about her own mother, and from what I know, you must have elders in your family too. Aren't you afraid she'll harm your grandparents?"
Wendy's words puzzled Melody. She could not understand how Wendy concluded that she was someone who would neglect the elders in the family. However, the depth of Wendy's hatred toward her was evident in her words.
Even with Lucas standing in front of her, Melody could not resist firing back, "Miss Wendy, don't you think you're perhaps meddling a bit too much? What does my relationship with the Riveras have anything to do with you? You're definitely sticking your nose where it doesn't belong."
Jealousy churned inside Wendy. 'How dare this despicable woman keep referring to the Riveras as if they're close? Isn't she afraid of getting herself into trouble?'
"You have some nerve to act like the Riveras are your real family when you've abandoned your real mother. If I were your mother and knew I'd give birth to such a heartless and ungrateful girl, I would've suffocated you in your crib!"

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
