"What?" Thalia looked up, surprised by Melody's sudden question. Melody seized the opportunity to ask further.
"Why are you so insistent that Grandma fell by herself? Did you see something you're not telling us?"
Thalia quickly changed her demeanor to one of apparent grievance.
"I didn't see anything. I just think Grandma Beatrice is old, and I know we all don't want this kind of accident to happen, but that's just life. I also know Lucas listens to you now, so whatever I say, you both think it's wrong. I'm fine with that, but it's also precisely because he listens to you that you should advise him. Or do you really want him to keep worrying like this?"
"Is that so? Is that what you think?" asked Melody.
There was no way Melody would be easily fooled by Thalia, given their past history. She had already suspected Thalia, but she could not say anything since she did not have any evidence yet. After all, Thalia might take it as Melody causing trouble for her.
Lucas touched Melody's hand lightly. "Let it go. It's more important to find evidence now. If we can't, we'll just have to wait for Grandma to wake up."
"Grandma will wake up," Melody said confidently, looking at Lucas as she spoke.
Lucas felt his own resolve strengthened with her assurance.
"You two should go back now since we've searched through the surveillance footage and found nothing. It'd be pointless for you two to continue sacrificing your sleep," Lucas said firmly.

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....

my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
