Claudia was extremely anxious. She bumped into Henry, wanting to know if he was okay.
"Don't worry, I'm sitting here talking to you just fine. Nothing's wrong. They only hit me with a stick, but I didn't even shed a single drop of blood. It was my fault for missing the opportunity. Those kidnappers are really audacious. They actually set a trap for us along with the officers."
Lucas remained silent, contemplating how they could increase their chances of escape.
Sitting idly by was absolutely not an option.
He believed his grandparents would surely rescue him, and indeed, that proved to be true to some extent. Still, he did not think those kidnappers would just sit quietly and do nothing to them. Every second they waited here, their danger increased by another degree.
"Mister Henry, didn't they blindfold you?" asked Lucas.
Henry shook his head. "No, they only tied my hands and feet. Child, is there something you want me to check out?"
Henry shifted slightly in Lucas' direction. As the only adult present, he was also figuring out ways to help the two children escape.
No matter how fast the officers arrived, they could not match the speed of the kidnappers' actions. Ever since he was thrown in here, his heart had been hanging in suspense.
"Yes, Mister Henry, I want you to see if there are any other ways out of this room," replied Lucas.
Henry cautiously looked around. The house was in a state of disrepair, resembling the kind of self-built house found in rural areas.

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....

my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
