Many of Melody's fans noticed the well-dressed man sitting among them in the fan group. None of them expected the Rivera Group's dignified president to sit alongside common folk like them. Most company presidents had bodyguards stationed all around them, or at the very least seated in a private room. He chose to sit among the fans instead.
Melody had considered seating him farther away from the fans so he could watch her from a more exclusive position in the audience. He, however, refused. He believed that those in the front row had the best view of her, which made Melody blush a little.
"I'm worried that someone might recognize you if you sit with them. And it might be too loud for you too. What if someone who doesn't like you tries to hit you secretly and take you down?" Melody asked, concerned.
Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Do you think I'm that unpopular among your fans? Or are you implying that none of your fans like me?"
"Umm…" Melody pouted. "It shouldn't be surprising if they don't like you. After all, I married you just as I entered showbiz, and a lot of my fans were pretty sad because of that. They think that I'm still young and that I shouldn't tie myself down when I still have so many opportunities ahead of me."
She then continued, "It's pretty amusing, if you ask me. They advised me not to fall too deeply in love with you because you might just be playing with my feelings. They told me to think like a man, play with your feelings, then leave you and add you to my list of exes. Apparently, it'll make it easier for me in the entertainment industry."
"I'm glad that a lot of people like you, and I understand their concerns too. They're keeping me in check on how I treat you. As long as I treat you sincerely, they will come to terms with me. You don't have to worry, and you don't have to go out of your way to paint me in an extra good light either. We all knew what we were getting into when we chose to be together, didn't we?"
"Yeah…" Melody was caught slightly off-guard by him. In reality, she found that she had it the hardest when it came to being herself. She always felt that she did not live up to the expectations of her fans.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
