When Corinne was gone, Anya came over anxiously and asked, “What’ll happen to Rosie now?”
Lucas came back to his senses and said solemnly to his sister, She’s an adult now. She can think for herself. It’s only just for her to bear the consequences of her actions.”
“But Rosie’s my best friend! We can’t just leave her alone…”
“Enough. I don’t want to hear a word of it. You should go home with Sunny.”
Inside the police station’s restroom, Corinne came out after washing her hands, and Gabriel–who had been waiting for her in the corridor–stepped forward and respectfully handed her a tissue. After that, he handed his cell phone to her and said, “Mister Aaron called. He wants to talk to you.”
Corinne took the tissue and wiped her hands before answering the call.
Aaron’s voice came from the other end. “How’s everything, boss? You okay there?”
“Everything’s fine. You did a good job of finding the witnesses in time, so you’ll get a reward once I’m back.”
Aaron answered awkwardly, “It wasn’t me, boss.”
Corinne’s expression froze. “It wasn’t you? Are you saying they escaped by themselves?”
“It’s not that, either! I arrived too late, and they were already

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....

my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
