Anya cried as she shook her head woefully. "No! I didn't… Stop slandering me, Corinne! I swear, I only went for a drive and nothing more this morning. You seriously have to stop accusing me of things I didn't do!"
Corinne expected her to react like that. "Tell me, Miss Anya. Between you and me, who is slandering whom? You were even willing to sacrifice Jeremy, the person you purportedly love the most, to destroy me. There seems to be no end to just how ruthless you can be!"
After thinking it over, the only way for Anya to get out of this was to use the victim card since she lacked both logic and evidence. She quickly pretended to be on the verge of having a meltdown. "That's enough! Please, stop. I swear I didn't do any of the things you accused me of doing. I promise I won't ever try to steal Jeremy away from you again, so please just stop all this! Have some mercy, Corinne. I… I… Okay, how about I slap myself? Will that make you forgive me? Will that make you hate me less?"
Without waiting for Corinne's answer, she started slapping herself. Left and right. Left and right. Left and right. The slappings and her tears were seemingly endless.
Corinne hated nothing more than a person who resorted to crying when they knew they were about to lose the fight. Thus, she did not feel any pity for Anya at all.
However, Anya was still the pampered little princess in the Rivera household, so both Cedric and Beatrice could not bear to see her cry. It was obvious they would still love her, accept her, and forgive her no matter what she did wrong.
Lucas looked at Anya with conflicted feelings. On one hand, he hated nothing more than a lying, scheming person. On the other hand, Anya was still his sister. Even though he no longer liked or admired her as before, he still held a hint of sibling love toward her.
Then again, as much as he could not bear to see Anya slapping herself to the point of her cheeks turning bright red, it was not strong enough to overturn all the resentment he felt toward her for all the things she did to Corinne. Thus, he said nothing to stop her.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
