Corinne guessed Cedric and Beatrice wanted her to stay for dinner to make up for all the trouble Phoebe and Anya caused her. However, she did not want to stay a minute longer than she had to. All she wanted to do was say her piece and peace out.
"Don't worry, Grandpa, Grandma. I'll give Corinne a ride," said Lucas consolingly.
Cedric nodded. "Yes, you must do that. We've caused nothing but trouble for her."
"Lucas, tell Corinne how sorry we are," added Beatrice.
"I know," said Lucas.
The three of them ignored Phoebe and Anya throughout the conversation. They must have thought they were nothing but a nuisance by then.

When Corinne stepped out of the mansion, she bumped into Maxwell who seemed to have come from the garden, judging by his soil-caked hands. He might have dressed very well all the time, but his hands seemed to be forever dirty. Also, he did not seem to care about any of the happenings in the house. Well, not as much as he did with his plants.
Maxwell was surprised to see Corinne there, but he then smiled warmly at her. "Miss Corinne, how long have you been here?"

This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....

my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
