Chapter 26
But thinking about everything that had happened, the surprise was immediately replaced by mockery.
Calix’s face turned extremely dark. “Think clearly, I just want to repay the debt of gratitude to you once and for all! Now you pretend, no matter how much you make a scene in the future, you won’t have the chance to be treated like this!”
Ah!
He still felt like I was pretending.
Hearing Calix’s words, my heart suddenly turned cold.
“Mr. Calix, don’t worry, I, Anya, will live a happy life without you, and perhaps there won’t be any time to cause trouble for you.” I retorted with a sarcastic tone, and after speaking, I waved a taxi and left.
As the car drove away, the astonishment on his face gradually faded, leaving only an unwilling smile.
She had been in the Quinn family for four years and had always fulfilled her duties. Did Calix see me as someone pretending?
Fredrica had long discovered Calix’s intention to compensate me with money, and she was furious, scolding Calix without hesitation.
“You despicable turtle! Thinking that Calix is the only one with money in the world, she personally attended the charity auction organized by Starlight Media, and blinded his dog eyes!”
Fredrica had a hot temper. Within a minute, she reported to the planning department that I would appear on stage, and at the same time, the preparation of the outfit was completed.
“This time, the male companion will be your boyfriend. Don’t worry, the boyfriend I found for you will definitely make Calix faint in the toilet!”
When I saw the “boyfriend” that Fredrica had prepared for me at the entrance of the auction venue, my head couldn’t help but spin.
The first thought that came to my mind was: I’m definitely going to be knocked out in the restroom.
This “boyfriend” was none other than Thomas.
If the fans knew that their beloved young master was smitten by an ordinary person like me, wouldn’t they kill me?
Chapter 26
Thomas was wearing a white shirt underneath and a dark blue suit, looking even more elegant and handsome, like a prince stepping out of a fairy tale.
He walked over shyly, holding a bouquet of flowers. “Miss Anya.”
“Thomas…” I struggled to call out his name, my heart throbbing from the bottom of my being.
Is it too late to change the “boyfriend” now?
The truth told me that it was already too late.
On the opposite side, Calix and Cathy approached within the circle of reporters.
Seeing me and Thomas, Cathy deliberately stopped, “Thomas, don’t you want to introduce me? Last time I saw you two ice skating together, you were already secretly together.”
No one knew about that, but Cathy intentionally brought up the matter to let the whole world know.
“My girlfriend,” Thomas roughly followed Fredrica’s instructions and awkwardly smiled.
“Girlfriend?” Cathy’s face was full of surprise. “How is that possible? I saw…”
Before she could finish her sentence, her gaze shifted and her expression clearly conveyed a meaning between me and Thomas.
I had a child, how could I stand alongside Thomas?
Thomas remained calm, “Yes, everything is as you see.”
After speaking, he ignored Cathy and gently looked at me. “Shall we go in?”
“Okay.”
Although Thomas was just a figure skater, he was very famous, with outstanding looks and legendary performances over the past two years, earning him a large number of fans worldwide.
The reporters initially interviewed Cathy, but now that Thomas openly revealed such big news, they immediately surrounded the two of us.
“Mr. Thomas, can you tell me how you two met?”
“You two are such a perfect match. Are you planning to get married soon?”
“Mr. Thomas is only twenty–three years old. Aren’t you worried that publicly announcing the relationship so early won’t be stable?”
Chapter 26
“Mr. Thomas…”
“She is from outside the entertainment industry, please don’t threaten her.” Thomas didn’t mind being surrounded by everyone, he just gently reminded them, while keeping me close to his side.
I cooperatively bowed my head, revealing a frightened look, trying to hide my face in Thomas’s arms so that no one could see.
My eyes inadvertently fell on Calix, who was standing not far away.
He was also looking at me.
His face was no longer indifferent, and the curve of his lips clearly showed sarcasm.
He was mocking me, saying that a life without him would be prosperous, but then seducing other men, repeating the same tricks!
Even though he had completely decided to ignore me, he still felt uncomfortable and cramped inside.
Perhaps Thomas had made such a good impression that the reporters no longer hindered them.
It wasn’t until they entered the conference hall that I finally dared to take a breath.
“Sorry, Thomas, I didn’t expect Fredrica to arrange this. Don’t worry, I will have Fredrica clarify everything when we get back.”
Directly related to Thomas’s beauty and cleanliness, I felt that I had committed too many sins.
Reporters were not allowed inside the auction venue, so I dared to speak so boldly.
“No problem.” Thomas smiled gently. “As your boyfriend, I’m happy, although I know I’m not worthy of you.”
“No, no, this is what I should do.”
This young man was so kind–hearted, clearly a young calf that had eaten young grass, yet he said he was unworthy, simply not wanting to hurt others.
