When Robin stepped out of the Dragon Palace, he found Ferell already waiting for him by the mountain 

road. 

“General Ramsey, Ferell reporting for duty!” Ferell jogged up, stopping sharply before performing a solemn military salute. 

Robin froze for a moment. 

Looking into the eyes of his former subordinate, which were filled with devotion and expectation, he felt a wave of trepidation wash over him. 

Nearly a year had gone since his return to Draconia, and he had come to an uncomfortable realization that his once–icy heart was beginning to thaw. 

He had resigned from everything, cutting off all attachments, fearing that one day he might no longer be able to let go of the weighty friendships and deep love that bound him. 

There were still family grudges that had not been resolved. How could he allow himself to be entangled in such distractions? 

I’m the God of Death, a soldier forged in blood. I have no place for sentimentality. 

Robin hesitated briefly before reaching out and lowering Ferell’s saluting hand. “I’m just an ordinary civilian now, no longer a Special Operations Military Region’s officer. There’s no need for military formalities.” 

Ferell’s eyes welled up with tears. “General, you’ll always be my superior! Now that you’ve shed your title and returned to civilian life, I will also remove my military uniform and be willing to follow wherever you go!” 

Robin’s lips twitched slightly before his expression sank. “What kind of nonsense is that? You’re a soldier! How can you say something so foolish? I don’t need anyone following me. If you still see me as your commander, then remember this, stay true to your path!” 

After saying that, he turned and walked down the mountain road. 

Watching Robin’s indifferent back, Ferell’s throat tightened as he shouted, “General … Mr. Ramsey, at least let me escort you!” 

“No need.” Robin waved him off without a backward glance and made his way toward a rugged Hummer parked nearby. 

Two men in blue uniforms promptly opened the door for him. Just as he placed one foot inside, two off- road vehicles, both bearing the insignia of the Inspection Bureau, came speeding toward them. 

The moment the vehicles screeched to a halt, four men jumped out, swiftly surrounding Robin. 

The blue–clad guards stiffened, their gazes icy. If this wasn’t Draconia, these 4 men would already be corpses. 

The leader of the group, a man in his 30s with a stern demeanor demanded, “Are you Robin Ramsey?” 

Robin slowly withdrew his foot from the vehicle and turned a cold gaze toward the man. “That’s me. What do you want?”

The man stated formally, “We are law enforcement officers from the Anti–Corruption Division of the Inspection Bureau. We need you to come with us for questioning regarding a fraudulent scholarship case at the Graduate Research Institute of Brighton University.” 

Robin furrowed his eyebrows. “You must be mistaken. What does some scholarship fraud have to do with me?” 

Seeing the situation, Ferell abruptly rushed forward and flashed his military credentials. “Which department are you from? Mr. Ramsey was a Lieutenant General in the Special Operations Military Region. If there’s an issue, it’s not your place to investigate.” 

The man also presented his ID, “Wesson Hunt, Division Head of the Anti–Corruption Division of the Inspection Bureau.” 

After showing his credentials, Wesson spoke indifferently. “Colonel Lockwood, my apologies. The Inspection Bureau has received directives from high–ranking officials to bring Robin Ramsey in for questioning. This case is highly classified, and your rank does not grant you clearance to interfere.” 

Ferell’s expression darkened as his hand instinctively moved toward his weapon, but Robin raised a hand to stop him. “Ferell, this matter has nothing to do with you, step back!” 

After that, he turned his sharp gaze to Wesson. “I just have one question, who authorized this order?” 

“That’s classified,” Wesson replied icily, “This case involves the fraudulent scholarship and bribery scandal of Brighton University’s software engineering graduate, Joanna Leif.” 

Robin’s eyes burned with fury. “That’s complete b*llshit!” 

Wesson’s voice remained steady, “Robin, calm down. If you resist, we will be forced to take coercive 

measures.” 

“Let me make this clear, this investigation is personally overseen by the Director of the Inspection Bureau and authorized through official documentation. If you refuse to cooperate, we will have no choice but to charge you with obstructing law enforcement and take action accordingly.” 

“I dare you to try!” A thunderous voice cut through the tension as Jack stepped forward, his presence alone making Wesson flinch. 

The commotion had drawn the attention of the Seven Kings of Dragon Palace and Twelve Great Warriors. 

One by one, these distinguished figures arrived at Robin’s side, their very presence suffocating. 

Rows of dazzling military insignias gleamed under the sun, causing the four Inspection Bureau officers to freeze in place. 

These were not men they could afford to provoke. 

Even the Director of the Inspection Bureau wouldn’t dare utter a word in front of them. 

If the kings and warriors chose to stand in the way, then there was no chance that the Inspection Bureau’s law enforcement officers would be able to take Robin away. 

Wesson opened his mouth, about to explain, but before he could utter a single word, Jack’s boot connected with his chest, sending him staggering back. 

“You have a d*mn death wish, huh?” Jack’s voice boomed like thunder. “Waltzing into my Dragon Palace in
