Nicole’s body stiffened slightly. Although it was indeed hard on Clayton, who would say it so frankly?
She curled her lips and said, "Then you should take a good rest for a few days. Give yourself a vacation?"
Clayton smiled warmly. He did not have the slightest intention of letting go of her.
"I'm afraid I can't. There’s still a tough battle coming u p."
Nicole looked at him in disbelief.
A trace of imperceptible ruthlessness crossed Clayton’s eyes.
"The Sloan family sustained too much of a loss. I'm afraid that Isaac won't be able to keep his position as CEO!"
Nicole's eyes widened. How could such big news be kept hidden without a hint of leakage?
"It's you?"
Clayton laughed. "He's the one who set me up and wanted to short my stocks. From an outsider's perspective, I was manipulating the stock market in order to run away, but the money went to Isaac."
"So, he got a taste of shorting and bet on the whole Sloan Corporation?"
Nicole asked.
Clayton gave Nicole an appreciative look. 'She's so smart and can get it with a little hint!’
"Not the whole company, but enough to cause damage."
Nicole thought about it. 'Right... After all, the Sloan family had deep roots in Liberty. They won't just go bankrupt because of a few stocks.'
Even if Isaac Sloan was stupid, there were still reliable people in the company who would not put all the eggs in the same basket.
However, if this situation continues, the Sloan family's era would soon come to an end.
After Clayton said that, it took a while for Nicole to realize that the two of them had maintained this embracing position from the beginning and had not let go yet.
Although there was no one else in her office, she still felt embarrassed.
She immediately pushed him away as if nothing had happened and walked to the side of the sofa.
"Do you want to go back and take a rest? You're probably tired from the journey."
