When Clayton heard this, he frowned, nodded, and glanced at the bodyguard next to him with a grim expression.
"Shane, take good care of Madam."
Shane nodded solemnly.
"Yes, Mr. Sloan. You can rest assured."
Clayton followed the captain downstairs.
They went down the steps and went into an elevator that led underground.
Many hospitals in Erethea had bomb shelters underground, and some of them were hidden.
Clayton brought his people over. There were many men dressed in black standing at the door.
When they saw Clayton, they were extremely respectful and bowed their heads in unison.
Clayton walked straight into the innermost room which was very dim.
"Open the door.”
The bodyguard next to him did not hesitate and immediately opened the door.
Clayton entered the dark and damp room. The light overhead was swaying, and the vent was buzzing due to years of disrepair.
The man inside curled up on the ground, but he still looked fierce.
His bloodied body made him look wild and lifeless.
Clayton walked over, squatted down, and looked down at the man coldly. He said in a low voice, “Mr. Ferguson, are you okay?" Eric moved. His breathing was a little labored, and his thin lips were slightly pursed. His facial features were tough and sharp as he looked at Clayton gloomily.
"I won’t die just yet."
Clayton laughed when he heard this.
"Great."
Clayton's eyes held a complex emotion.
When Grant called him, he deliberately reminded Clayton of Eric’s identity because he did not want Clayton to act on an impulse.
This time, Eric finally fell into Clayton's hands, yet he could not do anything. How could Clayton be reconciled?
Clayton’s face was calm and undisturbed. However, the coldness and sharpness in his eyes were undisguised.
"Mr. Ferguson, do you regret it?"
Eric paused and breathed heavily.
"Is Nicole awake?"
Even though Clayton had gotten five or six bodyguards to take turns fighting with Eric, Eric was a tough guy and stood his ground.
Eric was not willing to be beaten without fighting back.
Clayton deliberately wanted to drain Eric's energy from the constant fight.
Just as expected, Eric did not show his weakness.
However, at this time, Eric looked extremely wretched.
Eric was exhausted :a,>YKW; had bruises all over his body.
Clayton’s composed and gentlemanly appearance was in stark contrast to Eric's current state.
Under the dim light, Clayton suddenly raised his eyes and stared at Eric.
"How could you mention her name?”
His tone was extremely cold. "When she was bullied, you stayed on the sidelines. Why are you pretending now?"
Eric was silent for a while. He clenched his fists.
Clayton’s every word poked at his pain point.
Eric’s throat moved, and his whole body was tense and hurting.
"What can I do?"
Eric paused and repeated it. He was depressed and resentful.
"What can I do? That's my mother. No matter what, she’s my family. Compared to Nicole, my mother has no value, so they’ll kill an ordinary woman like her at will. I know that they won’t kill Nicole. So... So..."
Eric did not continue.
Saying that already took all his strength.
Clayton sneered and gritted his teeth.
"So, you can let Nicole die. Do you think that she’s not an ordinary person? Does she have nine lives?! Eric Ferguson, the reason you lost is not that you abandoned her countless times, but because of your inopportune confidence in yourself.”
After he finished speaking, Eric’s expression changed slightly.
Clayton lowered his eyes and stared at Eric. He was extremely pleased to see Eric's defeated look at that moment.
This fact was worse than killing Eric.
Clayton stood up and tidied up his clothes.
"Mr. Ferguson, I'll put you at the dock and get your people to pick you up, so don’t even think about showing yourself in front of my wife in the future."
