"You have been summoned to the royal court. Get ready quickly," Arlan instructed.
"To the royal court?" she asked in surprise. "For strangling that vixen?"
Arlan nodded and pulled the string of the bell in the chamber.
"Yes, Your Highness," came the servant’s voice from outside.
"Quickly bring a meal for Her Highness. Do not warm it, just bring it as it is."
"Yes, Your Highness."
Understanding the urgency, Oriana said, "Let me have a quick bath," and turned toward the side chamber. But Arlan held her in place and guided her to stand in front of the mirror. "No need. You already look fresh."
"But still..."
"If you waste time bathing, you won’t have time to eat. And I don’t want to risk taking a hungry and irked demoness to the royal court. Stand here; I will get your clothes."
She chuckled at his remark and looked at herself in the mirror. ’Well, I was gone only for a few minutes. So basically, I am still fresh from last night. And eating is more important than a bath.’
Arlan brought a dress for her and started undressing her. "Wait, I can do it."
"With my help, it will be faster. We do not have much time before the royal court starts," he said, already starting to undress her. "On your first visit to the royal court, it’s not good for your image if the Crown Princess is late."
Oriana felt like a little girl being prepared by her strict parents. "How much time do we have?" she asked.
He pushed aside her removed dress and started to put in a new one.
"Twenty minutes," he answered, being in hurry.
She gasped. "We need to hurry."
With Arlan’s help, Oriana quickly dressed. Arlan set her hair and added accessories while she admired his focus and dedication through the mirror. He was doing his best to prepare her as a Crown Princess.
He turned her around to face him and observed her face and pecked on her plum lips. "Perfect. Time to eat now."
A servant had brought the food, and Arlan set it before her, making her sit in a chair. "Eat this while I talk to the knights."
Oriana started stuffing food into her mouth. Though she had been only a few minutes away, she felt famished. Maybe going to the Demon realm had consumed her energy. When Arlan returned, he watched Oriana eating hastily, her cheeks puffed up like a squirrel as she chewed.
He felt like laughing but held back since there was no time for teasing. Not being able to talk, she signaled him that she was almost done.
"Take it slow. Don’t choke," he said, offering her a glass of water. She gulped the food and said, "I’m done," then stood up.
"We are teleporting to Thistle Palace first, and from there we will take a carriage," he informed her as Imbert and Rafal entered the chamber.
"My Lord, how can that be? We know well that no one can enter or leave the Demon realm. No one can breach the barrier the Princess herself created with her powers."
"No one but her. Only she can infiltrate it," he stated, shocking Xyron.
"My Lord, what do you mean?"
"She has returned. She is here in the Demon realm. Search for her."
Though Xyron found it hard to believe, he followed the lord’s orders. Once Xyron left, the lord vanished from his place and reappeared in front of an ancient palace-like residence carved from black stone.
’If she has truly arrived, then she can only be here.’
He disappeared again, reappearing in the open area where Oriana and Snowflake had been.
Closing his eyes, he inhaled deeply, there was faint stares of familiar scent lingering in the air. ’It’s her scent.’ To confirm his suspicions, he looked around and found footprints on the dusty floor.
He knelt, picking up strands of white fur and observing the prints of large paws.
’She has a spirit beast as well? I killed that beast with my own hands back then. How is it still alive?’ He followed the footprints that led to the stony pot. Touching it, he thought, ’This place was sealed by her mother’s divine power back then, and I could never reach it. Now I can be here whenever I want, but she is not here. I need to find her before she remembers everything. That witch will surely find her soon. I can feel the stone has already sensed Esmeray’s presence and is trying to reach her.’ frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
He looked up at the sky, the invisible barrier around the Demon realm visible to his gaze. ’Soon the barrier will break, and the Demon realm will be free from this cage. Esmeray, this time, do not disappoint me. Together, we will conquer the Heaven realm and show those arrogant deities their true place. We will send them all to the depths of hell and rule all three realms.’
