Chapter 625: A True Royal Blood

Just then, a number of royal guards started to enter the royal court, carrying heavy wooden storage boxes. They began placing them in the royal court one by one, opening the lids to reveal the contents.

Gold and silver. Each box was filled with bricks of silver and gold, leaving everyone wide-eyed. So much wealth could feed the entire kingdom for a year. The one who possessed them was the richest person here.

"What is this, Arlan?" Ailwin asked, as surprised as everyone else.

"Your Majesty, this is what Lucian Rainier looted from Luis," Arlan answered. "All of this halted Luis’ illegal dealings with other nobles and merchants within the kingdom, stopping him from gaining more power. This mysterious enemy kept draining his wealth but could not be found despite all of Luis’ attempt. It terrified Luis that the mysterious enemy might expose him. That’s why he came to the capital, seeking protection by associating with the royal family and other noble families close to us, such as the Ahrens and Clarence families, so that even if he is exposed, he could have control over the situation.

"He was eager to marry his daughter into the royal family to gain the King on his side. After that he was planning to propose the marriage for Lady Erin for his elder son Adam as Ahrens are strongest support of the royal family and then arrange his other son’s marriage to the Clarence family for Lady Evie as the Clarence family holds the military power. If his daughter married into the royal family, the other two families would not have been able to decline his proposals for his two sons."

Oriana and Erin almost rolled their eyes, thinking Luis must have been drunk to dream up such plans. Oriana whispered to Erin, "He was planning to take away my two companions."

Erin chuckled. "If Evie were here, she would have fainted at the thought of marrying into that family."

Oriana nodded. "That innocent soul, it’s good she isn’t here."

"Maybe your highness can think about sacrificing her other two companions to Luis’ son," Erin added, sounding all serious.

Oriana smirked, "Katherine and Anelisa? I would gladly do it."

Luis, unable to contain his anger, retorted, "All of that is mine.

"Yours?" Luke smirked, "Not anymore."

Erin shook her head, ’This rouge was having a godly treasure in his hand. No wonder he didn’t care about his salary.’

"I was using it to aid this kingdom. How can you accuse me of something I had not done," Luis spat out.

"Just like how you dare accuse our families of things we haven’t done," Luke scoffed. "But the difference is, our accusations are true."

"Luis, we have just started, so I advise you to keep your calm," Arlan said. "You are yet to be declared guilty for what you did to my wife’s family, the royal family of Aurialor. I believe the Princess of Aurialor will decide a fair punishment for you."

Luis scoffed. "Princess of Aurialor? She is not," he smirked wickedly, only for Imbert to bring his sword dangerously close to Luis’ neck, almost cutting his skin.

Luis, baffled, could not help but wonder how Arlan got these. Those portraits were supposed to have been burned by that witch Edna on his orders before she fled. Had she not done it?

Before Luis could react, Imbert had his sword and walked toward Arlan with it. All the preparations were made as the sword was placed on the table. At Arlan’s signal, a man, the same swordsmith who had informed Arlan about this sword, approached it. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

"Your Majesty, this man has expertise in different swords from around the world, and he can tell us all about it," Arlan explained.

The man bowed to the King and began his work. He needed someone strong to strike the sword’s handle, so Alex stepped forward and hammered the nail placed by the man at a specific point on the handle.

This time, Arlan didn’t do it, as he wanted to show everyone the authenticity of the sword and how difficult it was to unlock its handle.

The man later explained the same details to the King about the sword, concluding Arlan’s claim.

Luis, though cornered, refused to give up. "Alright, I admit that’s me, Jeffrery Clifford, but it remains true that your wife, that insolent girl raised in the wilderness, is not the Princess of Aurialor. My daughter Grace is. Even if we die today, we will die as royals of Aurialor. Thank you for letting everyone know who we are, true royals."

Arlan scoffed, "You are mistaken once more, Luis. My wife was, and will always be, the Princess, a true royal blood."

Two men entered the royal court, one wearing a knight’s uniform, and the other dressed in scholarly, noble clothes.

Oriana recognized the knight but was unfamiliar with the other man. Others in the court also recognized the knight, while only a few recognized this scholarly looking noble.
