"Luis and his daughter will be sent to the northeast as prisoners," Ailwin began. "The punishment for the Mortimers will be decided by both Lords of the Wynter and Rainier families, as they have suffered the most, and the Crown Princess agrees as well.
"Also, from this day onwards, Lord Wynter and Lord Rainier will take over the northeast, just as their families did in the past. The north part will be controlled by the Wynters, and the east will be controlled by the Rainiers. I hereby declare Aaron Wynter a lord of the north part and Lucian Rainier a lord of the east part of the northeast territory."
The ministers praised the king and agreed with the decision.
Once the royal court was calm, Ailwin spoke again, "Lord Rainier, all the gold and silver you have seized from Luis and how it helped us bring him to the capital, and Lord Wynter, how you have worked hard all these years to gather important evidence against Luis, as a reward for both of yours bravery, I am handing over all this gold and silver to both of you.
"I wish you to use it to develop the northeast, restore it to its past glory, and keep our enemies at bay." He looked at his adviser, "Lord Soymer, prepare the royal decree so I can soon hand it over to these two."
"Yes, Your Majesty," the adviser replied.
"Thank you, Your Majesty." Both Aaron and Lucian bowed to the King.
"Take the traitors away," Arlan declared, and royal guards took Luis and Grace away along with the wizard. Arlan then spoke to his father once more, "Your Majesty, I have additional reports against some of our respected ministers and noble families around the kingdom who have been boldly helping Luis, betraying the Throne itself. The reports and proofs have been submitted to you already."
Just as Arlan spoke, lines of sweat appeared on the foreheads of the guilty ministers. Surrounded by royal knights and guards in the royal court, they knew there was no escape. The few knights they had wouldn’t last a moment against the royal knights. Their only option was to surrender.
Ailwin looked at the ministers standing in the court. "If any of you wish to confess your crimes, I am giving you an opportunity to do so, and I will be merciful with your punishment."
The guilty ministers glanced at each other. Soon, those who were guilty came forward—a total of ten of them. They all knelt on the floor, begging for mercy.
"Your Majesty, please show mercy to me."
"Luis threatened me; I would never have betrayed you otherwise."
"Yes, Your Majesty, that wizard threatened us."
And so it continued for the next few minutes. When they finally stopped, they heard the King say, "Put all of them in the prison. Their punishments will be decided based on their crimes."
The ministers tried to protest and beg, but no one listened as the royal guards dragged them out of the royal court.
The King looked at Arlan and everyone who helped him. "You young generations have truly proven your capabilities and intentions of protecting this kingdom. Words are not enough to explain how delighted I am to have you all." He then turned to Walys Ahren. "Walys, what do you think?"
Walys Ahren, a man known for his wisdom, stepped forward. "Your Majesty, I am deeply impressed by the bravery and dedication shown by these young leaders. They have upheld the values of our kingdom and demonstrated a commitment to justice that will inspire future generations. Their actions today have safeguarded the throne and ensured the continued prosperity and security of our land."
Oriana looked at all the ministers standing in the royal court. "Today, I, the Crown Princess of Griven and the lawfully wedded wife of Crown Prince Arlan Cromwell, Oriana Cromwell, announce that my husband Arlan will never marry any other woman or have any concubine. I will be the only wife he will ever have." freeweɓnovel.cøm
She continued, "Any noble family in this kingdom is planning to marry their daughter to my husband, I would like to tell you to discard any of such thoughts. If any of your daughters tries to approach my husband, there won’t be just strangling of the neck, but your daughter would have taken her last breath right there and then. My husband is mine and mine alone. I do not wish to waste my precious time dealing with any nuisance. I hope I have made myself clear."
Everyone in the royal court be they ministers or knights or royal guard or others, looked at Oriana in disbelief. In the long history of this continent, no queen, princess, or even an high noble daughter had ever dared to make such a claim and threaten others, asserting her sole claim on her husband.
Julien felt like laughing at the boldness of her lovely daughter-in-law, but she held back and simply looked at her surprised husband. "Ailwin, say something."
Ailwin snapped back to his senses. Seeing his wife’s smiling face, a light smile appeared on his lips as well. He looked at his son, who was gazing at his wife with a delighted smile, his demeanour as if he had deeply fallen fall for this woman all over again.
Arlan was amazed by his wife’s bold claim in front of the royal court. How he wished to take Oriana away right at this moment and do all those indecent things with her until she had no trace of energy left. His mind had already started picturing all those wicked thoughts.
"Arlan, would you like to say something?" Ailwin asked.
The King’s words brought not just Arlan but everyone else back to their senses.
"Yes, Father, I do have something to say," Arlan said, his gaze fixed on his wife, who was looking back at him. "I agree with what my wife said. I will never accept any other woman. Oriana will always be the only one, my only wife, the one I love with every inch of my existence," his voice loud and clear, "Hence, I declare that I. Arlan Cromwell, the Crown Prince of Griven, belong only to her and her alone."
Smiles painted Oriana’s lips as well as those of others present in the royal court. The court murmured in agreement, admiring the unexpected display of affection from the young couple.
