The Devil's Betrothed novel Chapter 750

Chapter 750: Shocked And Confused

Though Lucian was surprised to see her angered, he didn’t flinch, even when the sword was pointed at him. He asked calmly, "What happened?"

"You ask me what happened? Are you that nonchalant about the immoral acts you are planning to commit?" she said coldly, her beautiful, anger-filled eyes glaring daggers at him. "You say you want me as your wife, and here you are already planning to have mistresses. How many mistresses are you going to have, huh? One woman comes, and you accept her. Soon, more will come seeking the favor of their lord. Are you going to fill our residence with your mistresses while I stand by and watch you shower them with kindness?"

’Our Residence’ these were the words that caught Lucian’s attention. So, she did consider marrying him.

"Lady Erin, what happened?" a man asked.

Erin turned to the source of the voice. Paul and another man were already in the study, but in her rage, she hadn’t noticed them when she barged in. Her focus had been entirely on Lucian.

"Lord Rainier, I am teaching your son the difference between right and wrong—something he seems to have forgotten. He should know women are not the toys for him to play with them and their emotions." Erin said, then looked back at Lucian, her sword still pointed at him.

Those present were taken aback to see their lord treated like this by a guest, but the lord himself showed no reaction.

The Ahren brothers entered the room, along with Aaron and Arthur. They seemed unsurprised by the scene, trusting Lucian to handle it.

"What did he do?" Paul asked, totally shocked. In his eyes, his son was the epitome of morality. He could never do any wrong.

"While asking me to marry him again and again, he is planning his mistresses as well. Isn’t that pathetic?" She asked.

Paul looked at his son in a disbelief but said, "Lady Erin, you must have mistaken. Lucian is not..."

"He arranged for me to stay in the chamber meant for the lady of this estate and even dares come in that chamber, do you still think he is not like that?" she interrupted him. She looked like she had lost all her calm.

Lucian, calmly watching her angry face, stepped forward, letting the tip of the blade press against his thick clothing. It wouldn’t take long for it to pierce his skin.

"Lucian!" Paul exclaimed, echoed by others in the room.

Lucian ignored their cries and refused to back down. Erin’s firm grip on the sword wavered, but she kept it steady, the blade still aimed at his heart.

He took another step forward, the sharp tip finally piercing his skin. Yet his expression didn’t waver, as if he felt no pain at all.

"What are you trying to prove by doing this? That you’re justified in treating me this way?" she asked, her voice trembling with fury. "If you plan to toy with my feelings, I’d rather kill you now. No man is allowed to humiliate me."

"You can go ahead and kill me if you believe I’ve hurt you," Lucian replied calmly. "But before you do, you should know: you are the only woman I will ever have. There is no place for anyone else by my side."

"Liar," she snapped, her anger intensifying. "If that’s true, then explain what that woman is doing with you all the time. She even spends hours alone with you in the study." freēwebnovel.com

Meanwhile, Paul gestured to the man next to him, signaling him to leave. Then he turned to the kneeling woman. "Emma, come with me."

Emma quickly stood, bowing deeply as she apologized to Erin once more before hurrying after Paul.

Rowan and Rafal entered the study while Arthur lingered outside, calling after them. "That sword... she might decide to use it on me next since I was the one who provoked her. You two handle this."

Rafal stepped forward, gently taking the sword from Erin’s hand, while Aaron turned his attention to Lucian. He moved aside Lucian’s winter coat, exposing the wound beneath.

"I’m fine," Lucian insisted, trying to brush him off.

Aaron glared at him. "If you knew how to use proper words, this wouldn’t have gone so far," he said sharply as he examined the injury, his gaze clouded with concern.

Lucian’s attention remained fixed on Erin, who stood frozen, her expression a mixture of shock and confusion.

"I’ll treat it later," Lucian said, his voice steady. "For now, let me talk to her."

Aaron, seeing that the wound wasn’t deep, relented with a sigh, stepping aside to allow Lucian to handle the situation
