The Devil's Betrothed novel Chapter 80

Chapter 80: Pervert

Enjoying herself, Oriana’s hand hovered to the left side of his chest.

’Hmm? Why is his heart beating so fast? Is he nervous?’

Thoughtlessly, her fingers moved down towards his stomach, feeling the tightly packed abdomen, causing Arlan to freeze.

’Further down? This idiot is going ahead of herself.’

He yanked that impudent hand and—

Splash!

Oriana found herself in the bathtub with him, her body drenched in water with Arlan’s body under her.

"Ah! Apologies! I don’t know—" she panicked to get out, causing her to step on the soap on the bottom of the bathtub. Her body was now directly pressed above him. ’What the hell had just happened?’

"If you want to take advantage of it, then say you want to and do it openly," she heard him say, his blue eyes turning darker for some reason, "and then I can also take advantage of your body. Isn’t it unfair to me that only one of us gets to enjoy it?"

"What?" She tried to get away, but her leg was tangled with his and she fell back on him, her hands taking the support of his chest, making the water splash again.

Arlan looked at that beautiful drenched face, her small face burning bright red in embarrassment. He had an urge to yank off the black fabric wrapped around her head, wanting to see her long wet red blond hair framing her pretty face. His heart skipped a beat at the beauty he imagined she would be.

"Apologies, my Lord. Please let go of me. I...I need to get out of the bathtub."

She tried to move away, but his hands had wrapped themselves around her waist, keeping her in place.

"Hey, pervert! I said let go!" she could not help but yell when her patience snapped.

"Pervert? I’m sure the one in front of me started this all by taking advantage of my body."

She moved her upper body backwards.

"Advantage?" she chuckled in disbelief. "Why would I take advantage of another man’s body when mine is far better in my eyes?"

Arlan smirked and tilted his head a little as his hands moved back to rest at the edge of the bathtub. "Shall we take off our clothes and compare whose body is better then?"

Oriana’s rationality finally returned, and instinctively, she moved her hands to cover her chest "I was wrong. Of course, my skinny body is nothing compared to the Lord’s perfect body."

She stepped out of the bathtub as Arlan didn’t tease her anymore.

Arlan left the tub as well and wrapped the towel on the table around her when he noticed her shivering. "Change out of your wet clothes and then come back. I don’t want you to fall sick and have an excuse to not work."

As she had been given permission to leave, Oriana ran out of the side chamber to go to her room in the adjacent residence. Fortunately, most servants were helping out in the dining room so few saw her in her pitiful state.

"What happened, Orian?" The Head Maid came across and asked, seeing her wet and still wrapped in a towel.

"I happened to fall into water. I am fine."

"The Lord?"

Just as she was about to unbutton her white shirt, there was a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" she asked as she hurried to wrap the blanket to cover her upper body.

"It is me." It was Janella, the Head Maid. "Open the door."

Oriana did as told and saw the strict-looking woman holding a tray with a steaming cup of tea. She accepted the tray with confusion.

"Miss Janella, this...?"

"It’s winter. Don’t catch a cold."

"Thank you—"

But the old woman had already turned around, not letting her finish her words.

Another maidservant happened to see this, and she smiled at Oriana.

"The Head Maid looks strict but she’s like a mother to all of us. Hurry and drink the tea while it’s hot. You cannot fall sick on your first day as valet. Take your time," the maidservant said before she left. Oriana noticed she was carrying a bucket with wet rags inside. It seemed that she was the one who cleaned after Oriana’s mess.

Oriana closed the door with a smile.

’The world is full of good people, it just happens that the bad people are the ones on top. It’s really unfair. Well, that perverted lord caused this mess in the first place. If I fall sick, it’s his fault.’
