177 Diagnosis
After the official press conference, Vanessa’s reputation was utterly destroyed, just as Liam and Amelic had anticipated.
The entire high society instantly turned its back on her, and she was blacklisted from every meaningful social circle.
Her business partners withdrew their support from every aspect of the business she was in charge of, distancing themselves from her in a bid to avoid any association with the scandal she had caused.

It was scary how easily people could oust someone who previously held such a high status, now it quickly became apparent that Vanessa was entirely at Liam and Amelie’s mercy. Before dealing with Vanessa’s future once and for all, Liam had demanded that she publicly apologize for her actions–for causing such a huge scandal and attempting to tarnish Amelie’s reputation along with the reputation of his family and business.
Vanessa had complied, but her apology fell on deaf ears. The damage was already done, and no amount of contrition could salvage her standing. Her fall from grace was complete, and she was left with no choice but to accept her fate and do whatever was necessary to at least people from holding her in the center of their negative attention.

With everything ready for Vanessa’s departure, Liam had asked Julia Ashford to discreetly assign some of her people to follow Vanessa and ensure that she led a quiet life without attempting to meddle in anyone’s affairs again..
Julia had agreed, and Amelie supported the decision, recognizing the need for such caution. They couldn’t risk Vanessa using her connections, however scarce, back home to stage a return. Meanwhile, Ted Castillo, who had been infatuated with Vanessa for years, finally saw her truc colors as well.

However, the entire incident still had left Amelie in deep thought about her own situation. Sitting alone in the doctor’s office, she couldn’t shake the lingering unease that had been occupying her mind ever since..
“The rumors never emerge out of nowhere; she thought, her fingers nervously tapping on her knee. ‘I know that people have speculated about me being infertile before, but it never became something this big and public. It annoys me that people feel the need to stick their noses into such incredibly personal matters, but there is no helping it… And as time goes by, I am starting to worry too.”
She sighed heavily, her anxiety soaring. At that moment, the door to the doctor’s office finally slid open, revealing Dr. Melissa Cooper, her new OB–GYN, who entered the room clutching a

After severing her ties with the Clark family, Amelie had decided to find an entirely new private clinic and a new specialist to handle her health.
Even though the decision had made her uncomfortable, Dr. Melissa Cooper was highly recommended by many women in her surroundings and considered one of the best female doctors in the country, therefore, Amelie tried to find comfort in the thought that she would still be in very capable hands.
Having approached her desk, Dr. Cooper took a seat behind it, offering Amelie a warm, reassuring smile as she pressed the power button on her computer screen.
“Thank you for waiting, Mrs. Bennett. One of the women I am in charge of had a little accident so
I had to take care of her; I am sorry it took so long. So! I have reviewed your test results, and I must say, everything looks excellent. You appear to be very healthy, Mrs. Bennett, which pleases me greatly too.”
Amelie let out a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding, feeling a sense of relief wash over
her.
Dr. Cooper glanced at her computer screen, adjusting her round glasses as she continued.
“I know that a lot of women worry about having healthy pregnancies after they turn thirty, but every case is different. In your case, I am very hopeful. At the risk of jinxing it, everything seems to indicate that you will have a smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby”
Amelie felt as though a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She hadn’t realized how much the fear of infertility had been weighing on her until this moment. At last, a genuine smile spread across her face as the doctor’s words began to sink in.
“Thank you, that is a relief.
But then, Dr. Cooper’s expression shifted to one of concern, and she leaned forward slightly, studying Amelie with a curious look. “By the way, she asked carefully, “has your previous doctor ever prescribed you any fertility treatments?”
Amelie blinked in surprise, her smile fading. “No, never. Why?”
Dr. Cooper’s brow furrowed as she glanced back at the computer screen, her eyes narrowing slightly. “According to your last test results, you were indeed diagnosed with infertility which to me makes absolutely no sense.”
“What?!” Amelie exclaimed, her voice rising in shock. “That can’t be right! I was never told that
before!”
Amelie’s mind raced back to the last time she was tested in her previous clinic. It was true, she never actually saw the test results herself but she clearly remembered Richard telling her that everything was fine.
So what in the world happened then?
Dr. Cooper nodded, looking equally puzzled. “I understand this must be alarming, but I’m only relaying what’s in your medical records. It’s possible that there was some kind of mistake or miscommunication, but your records indicate that a diagnosis of infertility was made.
“I’m going to run some additional tests to be sure” Dr Conner continued “hut given the

Also,” she offered the woman another concerned look before concluding, “I would like to talk to Dr. Bavel yourself and check whether someone had made a mistake.
