The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1386

“P-Police?! Those lowly creatures are at our door again?!”

Charles recalled the harrowing days he spent in the detention center, when he was living worse than pigs and dogs. He was determined to never return to eating scraps and living in foul conditions. Terrified, he exclaimed, “Dad! James! You must stop them from getting to me!”

Upon hearing this, Lance’s face turned grim, and he began pacing back and forth in distress.

“Don’t panic, Charles.”

James walked over and patted his brother’s trembling shoulders. “I’ve had people closely monitoring those two girls, and they haven’t made any contact with the police yet, which means they’re not planning to testify. If they stay silent, we can likely downplay this entire affair to nothing. Besides, considering the hit rate of Amelia’s live stream yesterday, the police had to make an appearance for the sake of it. Otherwise, wouldn’t they look useless to the public? Let’s find out why they’re here first.”

When the Iversons came downstairs, their expressions darkened at the sight of their visitors.

Ralph and two subordinate officers were at the center of the living room. His demeanor was sharp and commanding, exuding an air of authority that was majestic and cold.

Lance’s expression turned particularly sour, a hint of envy creeping into his heart.

Wyatt’s children were all exceptionally talented and attractive, overshadowing his own children in both appearance and capabilities. Even Ralph, the youngest son of Wyatt’s second wife and merely a detective, possessed such an outstanding demeanor.

Usually, parents view their children as treasures. However, recalling the shameful actions of Astrid and Charles only fueled Lance’s frustration. In the presence of Ralph, Lance felt almost too ashamed to be present.

At the moment, only his youngest son, Christopher, seemed to be a worthy contender. His appearance, demeanor, and capabilities were all exceptional, enough to stand toe-to-toe with the Thompson children.

Yet, the most ironic thing that Lance seemed to have forgotten was that Christopher was once the son he disliked and underestimated the most.
