The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1924

Ryan sat beside the bed, holding her scarred hand against his cheek, gently rubbing it, and kissing her palm.

He usually doted on her, treating her like priceless, fragile porcelain.

He had taken such good care of her, yet those bastards trampled on his beloved in the mud, causing her to break apart…

“Carrie, I’m here. Open your eyes and look at me, okay?” Ryan’s reddened eyes welled with tears, his pale lips slightly quivering as he muttered, pleading, “Wake up... Don’t leave me alone.”

He sat there without moving until the sun rose.

Early the next morning, Gregory came to visit his daughter, accompanied by Paul.

When Justin, who stood guard outside the ward for the whole night, saw his father, he stood up with a complicated gaze.

“Were you sitting here the whole night without sleeping?” Looking at his deep eye bags, Gregory was shocked.

Justin said lightly, “Yeah. I’m not sleepy.”

“How is this fine? This is the fourth day, right? A human can live for a maximum of seven days without sleep. Do you want to die?!” Gregory’s brows furrowed deeply, and he blurted out in a panic.

The father and son stared at each other, an awkward tension lingering between them.

Justin’s eyes widened slightly. He could not believe that this man actually cared about him.

But Gregory’s words seemed genuinely concerned. He was not used to it.

Gregory blinked and cleared his throat. “I had Paul buy some breakfast. You haven’t eaten yet, right? Have some.”

Paul immediately placed the two takeout boxes in his hands on the chair.

“There’s your grandfather’s portion. Take it to him later. He’s picky and complains that the hospital food is tasteless, specifically asking for burgers and whatnot. I don’t know what’s so tasty about it. He can’t seem to have enough of them.”
