Security was tight outside the ward.
Christopher only kept the bedside lamp on in the ward and read under the soft illumination.
Cece knocked on the door and entered the ward, her voice soft.
“It’s time for your medication, Mr. Iverson.”
“Sure.”
Christopher seemed to be in high spirits, a subtle smile playing around his eyes behind his glasses.
Cece hid her aggression behind her ingratiating smile.
Christopher could fool anyone with his gentle face.
If it were not for her brother, Cece would probably have been taken in by Christopher as well.
