Christopher tightly grasped her hand, rubbing and kissing it with an almost desperate tenderness. “You slept for an entire day and night, and I was terrified... “I want meat.” Bella spoke without looking at him.

For the first time in five days, Christopher received a non-hostile response from Bella. His eyes lit up. “Alright… I’ll have the kitchen prepare it right now! Bella, it’ll be ready soon. Just wait!”

Within an hour, the kitchen had prepared a table full of delicacies for her.

Two maids helped her get ready while pushing her around in a wheelchair. By the time she emerged from the bathroom, her face regained a hint of color, but her cheeks remained sunken in.

Christopher’s gaze darkened with desire as he strode forward and lifted her from the wheelchair, holding her tightly against his chest.
