Bella donned a set of medical scrubs, tied her hair into a neat ponytail, and put on a thick mask.
She looked so professional that Steven was mesmerized.
Even with her distinctive features obscured, the assurance and bravery she exuded enchanted anyone who saw her.
Especially in the fading daylight, her shimmering eyes sparkled like the starry sky. One glimpse was enough to make someone feel utterly captivated.
Bella gave Steven a sly grin. “What are you staring at? Haven’t you seen me like this before?”
Her voice had a playful edge. But she could tell his gaze was not one of romance, just pure wonder and appreciation.
“N-No… It’s just that even with only your eyes showing, wearing a white coat, you still look amazing.” Steven scratched his head awkwardly, then asked curiously, “Were you like this when you worked for Doctors Without Borders in Kridor?”
Bella adjusted her appearance in the mirror. “More or less.”
Suddenly, Steven perked up and asked, “I heard that Justin was also in Kridor for an emergency military mission. Since it’s not a huge place, do you think you two might have crossed paths back then?”
Bella’s hand froze for a moment, and her little finger, which had long lost sensation, quivered slightly. Her voice had a hint of reluctance as she responded. “Probably not. If we had, how could he not recognize me now?”
Steven’s heart tightened. He hesitated but refrained from asking further.
He could not shake the feeling that Bella carried a heavy secret, one she bore alone. Her words just now were filled with a tinge of helplessness and regret.
…
Before she left, Steven tried to convince Bella to wear a surgical cap as well. After all, Bella was a woman of extraordinary beauty whose brilliance was hard to conceal. The more she covered up, the safer she would be.
Now fully disguised, Bella planned to sneak into the hospital through the back door.
She had not expected such a run-down, desolate hospital to have guards stationed at both the front and back entrances. Judging by their demeanor, Bella knew immediately they were not police but rather Clarice’s men.
This only confirmed her suspicion—whatever was happening inside the hospital seemed extremely shady and not meant for public view.
Rather than rushing in, Bella decided to hide in the bushes and observe the situation instead. It quickly became clear that anyone wanting to enter the building had to show identification, indicating very tight security measures in place.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson)
If you are about to start reading this “ongoing” book….don’t. It’s a great read but mo regular updates and leaves you hanging. Took me months to get to chapter 2370 (this app only has it to chapter 2368….learned to search different links to read ahead a bit). These ongoing books are just not worth the time since their author (s) take days/weeks to upload new chapters. Again great sultry, long drawn out at times, but not worth the frustration of no new updates....
No update in 6 days!!! Really??? I’m about over this story and ready to move on, the wait is to long....
Pls update regularly or least let us know why it's taking so long...
Ok I was thinking last night. I really hope the author hasn’t been affected by hurricane Helene. Not sure where they are located but I hope everyone is safe...
It’s been 87 years since the update with only 2 chapters. 🙄...
