Bella’s chest heaved with uneven breaths. Her nose was red and her tear-filled eyes fixed on Justin in stunned silence.
In Justin’s absence, Bella was utterly fearless. She faced the darkness and fought the world’s evils with unyielding courage.
But when Justin appeared, shielding her like a savior in her moment of need, everything changed.
For the first time, she felt fear.
She started to cry. Her heart softened. The strong front she had kept up crumbled, and she became a fragile shell, swept away by the tidal wave of emotions this man stirred in her.
It turned out that Bella was just like any other girl, she could feel fear. But that was only when Justin was around.
Ignoring the pain in his back, Justin grasped Bella’s trembling shoulders with his large hands and carefully examined her from head to toe repeatedly.
When he was sure she was merely startled and was not physically hurt, the tightness in his chest eased slightly.
“Justin…” Dr. Wagner stood frozen, staring at Justin who seemed to have dropped out of the sky. His body shook uncontrollably, his face pale with fear.
But then he snapped back to his senses and screamed at Jerome, “Run, son! Run!”
Although Jerome was hotheaded, he was not a fool. He did not know Bella, but he certainly knew who Justin was.
Realizing the impending disaster, Jerome broke into a cold sweat and took off running.
He barely got two steps before a sharp pain shot through his lower back. “Ahh!”
The next second, Jerome tumbled down the stairs, landing face-first in a muddy garden.
He scrambled to get up, but a heavy boot pressed down on his tailbone, pinning him in place. He could not move.
It felt like his bones were about to snap. The pain was so intense that he clenched his teeth and yelled, “Who the hell are you?!”
“Your maker.” A mocking voice came from above.

I am reading this book from last year. Its very long story but at start i find enjoyable.Still there is no closure , dragging the story and the writer is running out of ideas. Its frustrating that they don't upload chapters regularly....
If you are about to start reading this “ongoing” book….don’t. It’s a great read but mo regular updates and leaves you hanging. Took me months to get to chapter 2370 (this app only has it to chapter 2368….learned to search different links to read ahead a bit). These ongoing books are just not worth the time since their author (s) take days/weeks to upload new chapters. Again great sultry, long drawn out at times, but not worth the frustration of no new updates....
No update in 6 days!!! Really??? I’m about over this story and ready to move on, the wait is to long....
Pls update regularly or least let us know why it's taking so long...
Ok I was thinking last night. I really hope the author hasn’t been affected by hurricane Helene. Not sure where they are located but I hope everyone is safe...
