The Divorcee and Her Three Chaotic Children (Olivia Clarke and William) novel Chapter 128

Chapter 128
Chapter 128
Due to the pull of the magnet, cars were getting tugged and clung to the back of a truck. Like iron filings to a magnet, they flocked. In no time, the truck was forced to hit the brakes.
The sight of cars tailgating a single truck soon turned heads.
They pulled the truck over pronto!
Inside, Olivia could faintly catch whispers from the outside.
She pocketed her ring, letting out a silent sigh of relief.
It felt like the wind had been knocked out of her sails as she slumped in her seat.
The moment the door swung open, fresh air graced Olivia’s lungs.
The winter sun felt unusually cozy, kind of like a warm blanket on a cold day.
“Miss Clarke, you alright? Your face…” When Marshall saw her, his jaw almost hit the floor.
Isn’t this the same Mrs. Kinsman they all once knew?
The penny dropped. That’s why Mr. Kinsman was ready to gamble all his stakes in the Kinsman Group! The Miss Clarke he’s been so chummy with is none other than Mrs. Kinsman! She’s not pushing up daisies!
The surprise was painted all over Marshall’s face.
“Hit the nail on the head, Marshall. I’m still kicking. What brings you here?” Olivia was slightly taken aback seeing him.
“Mr. Kinsman sent me to fish you out of this mess,” Marshall replied, lending her a hand and wrapping a warm-down jacket around her.
She didn’t bat an eye and wore it immediately.
It was so cold that she felt numb all over!
“Where’s William? What is he?” The burning question in Olivia’s mind was the whereabouts of Ezra.
Marshall hesitated for a moment, choosing his words carefully.
“Mr. Kinsman took an agreement to meet Lone Wolf up in the Mount Julford. He guessed that Lone Wolf might try something sneaky, so he asked us to search the city for you. Luckily, that bizarre chain reaction with the cars led me straight to you.”
Marshall explained, guiding Olivia carefully to the car to warm up.
His respect and politeness deepened after learning Olivia was Mrs. Kinsman.
He knew, better than most, that she had always been the apple of Mr. Kinsman’s eye.
“What agreement? What does Lone Wolf want from William?” Olivia asked, a mix of curiosity and confusion in her voice.
Hadn’t William hated her for wanting to take the children away? Even kidnapped Ezra?
How could he be threatened by Lone Wolf now?
Olivia couldn’t understand!
“Lone Wolf caught you and asked Mr. Kinsman to trade all the shares of the Kinsman Group. Mr. Kinsman agreed…”
“What!” Olivia was dumbfounded.
How could she not have known that she meant so much to William?
He wanted to strangle her just an hour ago!
At that moment, the bodyguards brought the truck driver over, and Olivia realized that Lone Wolf was no longer on the
truck.
He went to see William?
Lone Wolf was a lu natic. He never played by the rules. William could be in danger!
“Mrs. Kinsman, since you’re safe, I should go help Mr. Kinsman, Lone Wolf is not easy to deal with. I’m a little worried…”
“I’ll go with you!”
Olivia exclaimed instinctively.

Chapter 128
“Mrs. Kinsman… Mr. Kinsman said that if I find you, I should send you home. Ezra is waiting for you. He told you not to worry about him.”
“That won’t do! If anything happens to William, or if he really gives away the Kinsman Group, won’t I owe him another big favor? I hate being in debt!” Olivia declared.
“But, Mrs. Kinsman…”
“Stop dilly-dallying and get in the car!”
“Yes, Mrs. Kinsman.” Seeing Olivia’s determination, Marshall was touched.
Yes, Mrs. Kinsman must be worried about Mr. Kinsman.
She must have Mr. Kinsman in her heart too!
Lost in his thoughts, Marshall quickly scuttled to the driver’s side of the vehicle and promptly got it roaring to life.
“Mrs. Kinsman, buckle up. We’re off!”
Olivia, comfortably seated on the pa**enger side, methodically fastened her seatbelt. Only then did something strike her as odd.
“Uh, Marshall,” she began hesitantly, “William and I have gone our separate ways. Could you perhaps not address me as ‘Mrs. Kinsman”?”
“Of course, Mrs. Kinsman!”
Olivia sighed inwardly. Gazing at Marshall’s flushed cheeks, she decided to let it slide for now.
Finding William was the top priority.
She remembered William never went anywhere risky without his trusted Marshall. So, he must’ve had his electronic devices active.
Instinctively, Olivia’s hand darted to where her phone used to be, recalling that she’d lost it earlier in the commotion.
Embarra**ed, she pulled her hand back.
Catching her drift, Marshall deftly retrieved a smartphone from the glove compartment and handed it to her with gentle
care.
“Mrs. Kinsman,” he began, “Mr. Kinsman left this for you. He thought if you got out of that bind, you’d want to ring up Ezra. Use this.”
Olivia was stunned by what Marshall said.
“William and his enigmatic ways,” she thought. He’d been cold and distant when he took Ezra and vanished. Now, not only was he allowing her to connect with Ezra, but he was also braving dangers just for her?
It baffled her.
Logically, she had taken their son and planned to leave William for good.
He had every reason to resent her. Yet, all signs pointed towards him looking out for her, even shielding her.
Why?
Shaking her head to rid herself of these thoughts, she switched on the phone. After a moment’s hesitation, she dialed William’s number.
At Mount Julford’s peak, a sleek black SUV zoomed, making its way towards the old chapel atop the hill.
Once there, the vehicle halted gracefully in the courtyard. William, in his dapper dark gray suit and a cla**y woolen overcoat, exuded an air of cold elegance as he stepped out.
His penetrating gaze swept the area before he confidently strode into the chapel.
Inside, a man was deeply engrossed in his prayers.
William, without a word, took a seat behind him, waiting patiently.
After what seemed like an eternity, the man rose. When he turned around, his demeanor shifting from devout to devilish.
It was very different from the pious one engrossed in prayers.
“So, Mr. Kinsman,” he sneered, “you grace us with your presence. Care to join us for some prayers?”
