Chapter 158
“Alright, I’m going.”
Chapter 158
Reed said as he hauled Craig out of the hospital bed where he had been pretending to be a critically ill patient.
“Get up, we’re leaving! Did you fall asleep while playacting?”
Reed grabbed the drowsy Craig’s arm and hauled him to his feet. Craig grumbled in protest as Reed led him from the room, their voices gradually fading down the hall.
“You don’t know how vicious that woman is! I was a dying patient and she ripped out my oxygen without any remorse. I’m traumatized!”
Olivia listened to them leave, her mood growing more complicated.
The woman she had called mother for over ten years hated her enough to want her dead.
Thank goodness I’m not her real daughter, Olivia thought sardonically to comfort herself.

Meanwhile, Dean had been too excited about the livestream deal and could not sleep the whole night. He was eagerly awaiting his first stream that evening.
Orange Entertainment had already deposited the down payment into his account last night, and he had signed the contract
online.
According to the terms, as long as he did a normal stream tonight, he would get the remainder of the payment and even the deposit for the next one.
As he sat on the couch and drank his tea, Dean tallied in his head that he could make 70-80 thousand in one night. What other job could pay so much for just a single night’s work?
He was rather impatient to start living a rich, lavish lifestyle.
However, waking up early meant more free time; It also meant that he became hungry faster.
As Dean sat eating on the couch, he finally remembered that Caroline had said she would visit the wretched Olivia last night but she hadn’t come home.
“That worthless woman, who knows where she’s run off to, whoring around and didn’t even come home.” He grumbled.
Before, he could overlook her disregard for him, but now that he was about to become a top streamer, how could he tolerate her leaving him home alone and hungry like this!
Dean scowled as he called Caroline, but the call could not get through.
Just as he was about to hang up and redial, the butler Griffin called him instead.
“Regarding the investigation of last night’s prank that you asked me to look into, I have a lead. The convenience store’s video footage happened to capture a clear shot of the culprit’s face.” Griffin said.
“Oh? Which ba stard dared to ruin my big chance!” Dean demanded.
“It’s Blake.” replied Griffin.
“Blake? The former financial officer? What does he want? Do we owe him money?”
Dean still recalled the name. After all, when the company lost billions, Blake as the financial staff was held accountable too.
If not for Caroline pleading for him, he wouldn’t have just let him off with a dismissal!
“As far as I know, we don’t owe him anything. Although he was fired, his salary was fully paid before he left.” Griffin answered.
“Then what’s his problem? Is he trying to get back at me now that I’m down on my luck?” Lately it seemed everyone was kicking Dean when he was down. He had experienced his fair share of people who reveled in his misfortune.
But for a minor finance guy like Blake to actually dare bully him?
Just thinking about it made Dean’s anger rise.
“Well…” Griffin hesitated.
“Spit it out if you’ve got something to say, why are you hemming and hawing around?” Dean cursed impatiently.
“I investigated Blake overnight and found he seems to have an unusual relationship with Madam…”
“Unusual relationship? What does that mean? Is he a relative of Caroline’s?”

Chapter 158
Over the years, Caroline had installed many of her own parasitic relatives into the Clarke family. Those people had contributed greatly to the decline of the family with their idleness and mooching.
“Even if he’s Caroline’s relative, don’t go easy on him! If he causes trouble again, call the police!” Dean continued when Griffin didn’t respond.
When he heard this, Griffin sounded even more uneasy.
“There’s a high probability that Blake is Madam’s lover, and they’ve been together for years. Most of Blake’s a**ets had likely been arranged by her. He also runs an underground account full of hardcore videos that earns him thousands a month…”
Griffin hesitated, but ultimately revealed most of the truth.
He held back the fact that Caroline was featured in most of the graphic videos.
Over the years, he felt Dean still cared for Caroline deep down. Having only recognized her face and not the others, he decided to slowly tell Dean the full truth later.
His conscience and loyalty to the Clarkes made him feel Dean deserved to know the truth, but the matter was difficult to speak about. This was also why he had called instead of reporting in person.
“What? Are you saying that wretched Caroline has cu ckolded me?” Dean bellowed in disbelief.
That wh ore was still the same despite the years.
Already middle-aged, yet she still fooled around with wild men!
Wasn’t she satisfied he had married and housed her?
So her disappearances were to visit her lover!
Dean trembled with rage, rushed over and kicked the teapot off the coffee table.
But he lost his balance and crashed into the table instead. A gaping wound appeared on his forehead.
His arm wound also tore open and blood instantly soaked through the bandage.
“Are you alright?” Griffin asked worriedly, when he heard the tremendous din.
Dean lay motionless for several seconds, unable to get up.
The spilled tea mixed with his blood presented a gruesome scene.
An hour later, Dean was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Unable to get a response from him, Griffin had called for an ambulance and saved his life.
Dean had been conscious but paralyzed. His eyes were full of despair and rage.
Griffin anxiously stayed by his side, but no matter how he called out, Dean did not speak again until right before he was admitted to the ER.
Grabbing Griffin’s hand, bloodshot eyes blazing, he suddenly cried, “That adulterous couple must not be let off, they must pay!”
