Chapter 168
Chapter 168
“Lone Wolf? Why are you here?!” Olivia was surprised and shocked.
The pain around her neck made even talking a challenge.
“They’re on their way. Quick, hide!” Lone Wolf whispered urgently, grabbing Olivia and pulling her into a nearby room.
Confused and uncertain, Olivia’s instincts took over. She followed Lone Wolf and crouched against the wall, trying to blend into the shadows.
As she caught her breath from the recent choking, the distant sounds of hurried footsteps from the hallway reached her
ears.
They grew louder and more imminent. Olivia couldn’t fathom what had transpired, but the palpable tension emanating from Lone Wolf was hard to miss.
“Who could possibly make a top-tier killer like Lone Wolf this jumpy?” Olivia wondered, her curiosity piqued.
Once the footsteps receded, Lone Wolf visibly relaxed and helped Olivia to her feet.
“This place isn’t safe. Follow me,” he urged, about to lead the way out.
But Olivia resisted.
“I’m not going anywhere until you spill the beans. And with this disguise, how did you even recognize me?”
For safety’s sake, Olivia pressed, lowering her voice instinctively.
Chuckling, Lone Wolf replied, “Your little ruse can’t fool me. I’ve always been one to look beyond the surface. I see the bones, not the face.”
“Bone structure?”
“Exactly. Faces can be masked, altered, or disguised. But bone structure? That’s unique. And in our line of work, the last thing you want is to take out the wrong target. It’s all wasted effort and no payoff.”
Lone Wolf said with a smirk, giving Olivia an impromptu lesson.
Olivia was no stranger to the art of identifying individuals based on bone structure, but she had a**ociated it more with forensic experts and their post-mortem examinations.
It was the first time she had heard of recognizing a living person?
She couldn’t help but feel shocked.
Reading her surprise, Lone Wolf remarked, “You don’t have to be too surprised. There’s a world of things you’re unaware of, darling.”
Feeling slightly exposed, a wave of unease washed over Olivia, but she masked it swiftly.
“True, but right now, what I really want to know is why a world-cla** killer like you is here. And what’s got you on edge?” Olivia looked at the Lone Wolf in front of her with great interest and asked directly.
“You want to know?”
In mock contemplation, Olivia retorted, “To be frank, not that much. Got things to do, places to be. Catch you later!” Without warning, she made a dash for the door.
“That cheeky woman!” Lone Wolf thought, a smirk playing on his lips. “The plot thickens!”
Watching Olivia’s fleeting figure, Lone Wolf’s facade of unease vanished, replaced by a mischievous glint.
“Let the games begin!”
As he spoke, he opened the door and chased after her excitedly.
As soon as Olivia Clarke ran out of the room, she darted toward the elevator, guided by memory.
There was only one thought in her mind now, and that was that it was not safe to stay here.
She didn’t know why Lone Wolf was here, but whatever Lone Wolf’s up to, it’s definitely not a tea party!
As Olivia was letting her imagination run wild, she had already run back to the elevator. She anxiously jabbed at the elevator button and waited anxiously for the elevator on the third floor.
But a few seconds later, before the elevator arrived, the voice of Lone Wolf arrived first.

Chapter 168
“Ready or not, here I come, darling!”
The voice of Lone Wolf sounded very close to Olivia. Panicking, Olivia saw the stalled elevator and made a snap decision to dash into the stairwell.
Without looking back, she sprinted downstairs. Lone Wolf, on hearing the door slam, turned to follow but paused to shoot a sly glance at a hallway surveillance camera,
Then he slowly entered the elevator that had just arrived and pressed the button of Bl.
Olivia dashed breathlessly to the end of the staircase. Spotting a door ahead, she instinctively sped up, thinking, “Just beyond this door is the first floor!”
At this moment, Olivia subconsciously pulled out her phone, planning to send Gideon a message as soon as she found safety, urging him to retreat.
Reaching the door, Olivia swung it open and stepped out.
But instead of the expected first-floor hallway, she found herself in a laboratory enclosed in transparent gla**.
There was no one, but it was brightly lit.
Where was she?
“Did I accidentally end up in the basement?” she thought.
As soon as this idea came to her mind, Olivia was so desperate that she wanted to run back the door she’d come through. But she found that the door seemed to be stuck by something. No matter how hard she pulled, it could not be moved at all.
Just as Olivia was anxiously pulling the iron door, the elevator door slid open nearby, making her heart sk ip a beat.
She held her breath, worrying Lone Wolf to jump out and grab her.

However, she hid aside and held her breath for a long time, but no one emerged
Therefore, she plucked up her courage and approached the elevator.
After all, only by taking the elevator could she go up to the first floor. Lone Wolf was not here, so the elevator was her only chance to survive.
As Olivia thought nervously, she had gradually moved to the elevator.
There was indeed no one in the elevator!
Phew.
She let out a sigh of relief and hurried inside.
After confirming that she was indeed on the B1 floor, Olivia casually pressed the button of IF.
Just as the elevator door was about to close and Olivia started to relax, a hand shot out, stopping the doors from closing.
In an instant, Olivia felt her scalp go numb!
“Darling, we meet again!” Lone Wolf opened the elevator door and grinned menacingly.
“You!” Reacting instinctively, Olivia tried to kick his hand away. However, Lone Wolf was so fast that he effortlessly dodged.
“Hey, darling, let’s talk friendly. You’ll be at a disadvantage if we fight!”
“What do you want?” Olivia shot back, her eyes flashing with anger.
Lone Wolf’s reply was to step closer, cornering her.
Olivia was cornered by him. Just as she prepared to fight, he swiftly seized her wrist.
Fear gripped her, her skin chilled with sweat.
“Relax, darling I just need a tiny favor.”
