The Divorcee and Her Three Chaotic Children (Olivia Clarke and William) novel Chapter 77

Chapter 77
“I… I don’t know. It’s not my business…”
Staring into Olivia’s icy, resentful gaze, Gianna was scared out of her wits.
Gianna was becoming increasingly convinced that this Olivia before her was her sister, the one she’d thrown under the bus, who’d then disappeared without a trace, and was already considered a goner by everyone else.
Yet, given the current situation, Gianna had no time or inclination to question why Olivia, who should’ve been six feet under, was alive and kicking.
She felt a chill to the bone, fear gripping her heart.
Gianna shook her head instinctively, denying with all her might that she was the one who’d harmed Old Mr. Kinsman.
“Gianna, you think you can weasel out of this by just denying it? Brace yourself. Karma’s about to come calling!”
Olivia leaned in close, her voice as cold as ice, her gaze chilling. She was like the queen of the underworld who had returned from hell.
The terror washing over Gianna turned her as pale as a ghost. Her heart was pounding like a jackhammer, her breaths short and sharp.
“You…. you’re talking nonsense. Believe it or not, I’ll tear your mouth apart!”
Gianna glared at Olivia, her hands clawing at the air, but she couldn’t even graze a hair on her head.
Olivia reveled in the terror etched on Gianna’s face until she got bored and co olly walked away.
Maple Villas.
Olivia bent down and unlocked the pa**word lock, stepped inside, only for her brows to furrow instantly.
Someone broke in?!
Alarm bells rang in Olivia’s head, she lightened her steps and subtly reached for her weapon.
Suddenly, a shadow darted from the corner, aiming a kick at her chest. It moved with lightning speed, almost like a ghostly apparition.
Caught off-guard, Olivia could only backpedal and defend, giving the a**ailant an opportunity.
By the time Olivia pulled out her weapon, the gleaming knife was already in her face, its icy glint nearly blinding her.
Olivia barely managed to dodge. The attacker, having gained the upper hand, was not about to let up.
After a few skirmishes, Olivia found her strength waning.
And with both Gideon and Reed out of the picture, she had no backup.
The masked man, cloaked in black, relentlessly pressed on, hell-bent on taking Olivia’s life, oblivious to the exposure of the tattoo on his hand.
The dagger in his hand moved with lethal precision, each slash aimed to kill.
Is this really where I’m gonna bite the dust? No, I haven’t avenged Old Mr. Kinsman yet! I can’t just…
Olívia, cornered and panicked, felt beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
At the critical moment, a familiar figure swooped in, intercepting a bone-chilling blow meant for her.
Before Olivia could even react, he retaliated swiftly and fiercely. After a tussle, he finally managed to fend off the a**ailant,
The masked man then made his escape through the window.
“Are you all right?
William gave Olivia a once-over, his deep-set eyes filled with concern, as if fearing she had sustained even a scratch.
“I’m okay, but you, William, you don’t look good…”
Olivia’s gaze fell on the alarmingly crimson blood spreading across William’s crisp white shirt, her heart hammering in her
chest.
William was strange, really. He was the one who was hurt, but he was more concerned about her.
“Quick! Sit down! I’ll tend to your wound!”

Fearful that William might bleed out if she delayed any longer, Olivia didn’t waste a second and hurriedly urged him to sit.
Turning around to fetch the first aid kit, Olivia seemed composed, but there was an undercurrent of panic that was not usually there.
William, who used to be so repulsed by her mere presence, had just taken a knife for her.
What would happen when William found out that she was Olivia one day?
Carefully peeling off William’s blood-soaked shirt, the gaping wound that met Olivia’s eyes sent her heart into a frenzy.
“William, are you trying to get yourself killed?”
Olivia’s hand shook slightly as she retrieved the high-grade medical supplies Reed had just requested from headquarters, and gently applied it to the gruesome ga sh across William’s abdomen. She couldn’t help but chastise him softly.
“I do value my life, but I value you more…”
William’s lips were deathly pale, and he appeared significantly weaker, but that didn’t deter him from flirting.
Olivia’s eyes darkened, “You’re bleeding out and still have the gall to spout nonsense. William, your me ntal fortitude is truly something else.”
Flirting even in the face of death – this certainly upended Olivia’s perception of William.
When did he stop being so serious?
“I speak from the heart, Miss Clarke. Don’t you believe me?”
Seizing the opportunity of Olivia’s momentary distress, William made his move. His typically impa**ive eyes were now filled with warmth.
William was indeed telling the truth. The only thing he desired was Olivia’s love.
Once something he sneered at and took for granted, it was now something he yearned for.
“Enough, William. Save your breath and your strength for healing.”
Olivia sidestepped William’s tender, earnest gaze and swiftly finished up the bandage, even spitefully tying a dead knot.
“Ouch…”
The sudden tightening caused William to wince in pain, yet there was never a hint of anger in his eyes.
Compared to what Olivia had endured in the past, this was just a drop in the ocean. How could he have the right to complain about pain?
In the living room of the Lee family’s villa.
Mrs. Lee gave the computer a good whack, her face filled with rage as she glared at her good-for-nothing son, “Wayne, have all the women on earth suddenly kicked the bucket? Of all people, why did you have to fall head over heels for a flighty h ussy!?”
Every time Mrs. Lee thought of Gianna marring Wayne, she got so mad that her head spun, and she found it hard to breathe.
“Mom, it’s all nonsense on the Internet. Gianna loves me, otherwise, she wouldn’t have tried to commit suicide for me, Besides, we’ve already had sex, I has to take responsibility for that.”
Wayne was so smitten he couldn’t help himself, he constantly defended Gianna, paying no mind to his mother who was about to blow a gasket out of rage.
“You impudent brat!”
“You’ve lost your marbles!”
“Let me tell you, as long as I’m alive, that Gianna won’t be my daughter-in-law! If you keep being pigheaded, I’ll cancel your credit card! You and that bi tch can live on air!”
Mrs. Lee burst out in a fit of rage, regretting not feeding her son more fish when he was younger to smarten him up. Now, he was so thick-headed, crying out for a chance to throw himself under the bus.
With that, Mrs. Lee helplessly turned and ordered the butler standing by, “What are you waiting for? Lock this blockhead up, save him from disgracing the Lee family’s reputation any further!”
At Mrs. L ee’s command, Wayne was promptly lifted by the bodyguards and locked in his room upstairs.
His phone was also confiscated.

Of course, what Wayne also lost, was the chance to spend the Lee family’s money.
Just a moment ago, Mrs. Lee had someone contact the bank to freeze all of Wayne’s bank accounts…
Dean, who was banking on the Lee family to turn his luck around, anxiously waited for a good while,, but he didn’t get a
penny.
“That Wayne Lee, we had a deal, why is he silent all of a sudden? Could something go wrong again?”
Dean was on tenterhooks, mumbling to himself, he was just about to lose his marbles.
