When Neera heard what Joanna had just said, she almost cackled.

Neera smiled wryly and replied, “You’re being too ceremonious. We are family, and Jean is my husband. I’m just doing what I am supposed to.”

When Joanna heard that, she froze.

What does Neera mean? Why is she addressing Jean’s mother as if she is talking to her own mother?

Also, she just said that Jean was her husband!

What did that mean? Could it be…?
