The Enigmatic Return (Neera and Jean) novel Chapter 631

At night, Neera did not have any dreams and slept soundly.

Upon waking up, Penny had thoughtfully prepared a hangover soup and placed it by Neera's bedside.

Neera picked up the small note next to the bowl, looked at the slightly messy handwriting, and smirked.

She got up to freshen up, then drank the hangover soup before heading downstairs with an empty bowl.

Jean was already there, sharing breakfast with the children.

Harvey was having a conversation with Jean, his usually serious countenance slightly brighter.

Upon closer look, Neera realized the two were discussing the stock market.

Listening for a moment, she couldn't help but shake her head. "Why must you discuss this early in the morning? Can't you give your minds a break after breakfast?"

As she spoke, she affectionately patted Harvey's little head and teased him, "Don't become a workaholic in the future."

Harvey puffed up his small chest with seriousness. "It's alright, Mommy, I enjoy it. When I grow up, I'll help you with your burdens, and Uncle Jean is willing to teach me. I'll cherish this opportunity."

Neera playfully turned to Jean and mockingly said, "He's my son, but now he can't leave you."

Jean was quite pleased with the remark, raising an eyebrow and commenting, "This young lad is talented and self-motivated. He'll become a valuable asset in the future. I love talents like him."

While Neera found his words heartwarming, she also believed it was unnecessary to make premature judgments. "It's hard to say about the future. Harvey is still quite young. I'd like him to enjoy his childhood."

First of all, Harvey's temperament was noticeably calmer than that of his peers, and he seemed to have lost some of his childhood exuberance. Second, she never wanted to put any pressure on her children. As long as they were upright, hardworking, and living happily, she would already be happy, even if they did not have a promising future.

Harvey spoke, "It's really fine, Mommy! I'm willing to learn, and I like it very much."

Neera found herself at a loss for words upon hearing his response.

This young boy seemed to possess the seriousness of an elderly soul trapped in a child's body.

With a helpless sigh, she handed him a peeled egg, realizing there was no convincing him otherwise. "Alright, if you want to learn, then learn from Uncle Jean. Mommy won't stop you."

After a lengthy conversation, Sammy took the opportunity to share his thoughts. "Mommy, in Uncle Jean's company, there's an incredibly talented computer expert! You know, I'm interested in computers, and I want to learn too!"

Previously, he had been secretly exploring this interest without letting her know. Now, he saw an opportunity to confess to her, hoping for her approval.

Neera glanced at her two little ones, feeling a sudden surge of warmth, and turned to Penny.

Penny promptly chimed in, "Mommy, I'm learning to dance, and I won't take on anything else for now. However, my greatest dream is to become a doctor as skilled as you, Mommy. I read medical books on my own every day, and I believe it will come true someday!"

Looking at the determination in Penny's bright eyes, Neera couldn't resist pinching her little face affectionately. "Alright, Mommy believes in you too. If there's ever anything you don't understand, you can always ask Mommy for help."

"Okay!"

After a delightful breakfast, Neera headed to her company. Over the past two days, the company faced a myriad of challenges stemming from the rumors. In the morning, a meeting lasting over an hour was dedicated to addressing these issues.

Fortunately, the current state of the company was much better than Neera had expected.

Additionally, her recent challenges had started to turn around, and many problems were solved.

Upon returning to her office, Katy briefed her on the day's schedule. At the same time, Levi arrived and handed her a document.

"Neera, this is the financial statement for this month. Please review it."

Neera examined the document and noticed a significant increase in profits, surpassing the figures from when she was abroad.

"It's looking promising," she remarked with satisfaction.

Closing the document, she turned to Levi and said, "I'll need your assistance with the company's ongoing matters."

Levi nodded and replied, "Of course, but a few days ago, your situation was so dire that I couldn't do much..."

Neera cast a meaningful glance at him and responded, "Some matters are challenging to handle, and, normally, you couldn't help."

There was an undertone of formality and distance in her words, and Levi couldn't help but notice it. His heart felt heavy, and he was plagued by a sense of melancholy. After some hesitation, he mustered the courage to ask something that had been bothering him.

"I noticed that Beauvort Group came forward to clarify your situation. What is your relationship with Mr. Beauvort?"

Neera maintained her composure, meeting his gaze directly. "Well, even though it hasn't been made public, Jean and I are dating."

Her admission left Levi momentarily stunned as if something had slipped away from the depths of his heart. He realized he could never grasp it, and it had never belonged to him.

In the end, he buried the disappointment he felt deep within and forced out words he didn't want to say.

"I see... In that case, congratulations."

Neera accepted his words calmly. "Thank you. I still have some matters to attend to here, so you can carry on with your tasks."
