He was frustrated with Leon’s arrogance and thought that it was foolish of Leon to provoke Eugene. However, Leon was Iris’s boyfriend and saved his life before, so there was no way that Damian would stand idly by while Eugene attacked Leon.

“Why you! How despicable!” Damian paled.

He knew that he could not defeat Eugene in his current state and could only try to buy Leon the time to escape because he knew that Leon would not get a chance to survive once Eugene defeated him.
