He fought Rodney, the Fifth and Sixth Guardians in the Scammells Mansion before and recognized them right away.

Though he never met the Third Guardian, he could assume that the Third Guardian worked for the Southern Boss as well and that since the Third Guardian seemed to be the other two's superior, he was likely more powerful than the Fifth and Sixth Guardians.

The Southern Boss specifically asked that they captured Leon alive if possible to obtain all confidential information about Cynthion Group.

If Leon obliged and handed Cynthion Group over, the Third Guardian could consider showing mercy; but if Leon refused to give up, the Third Guardian was prepared to execute the Southern Boss's order and eliminate Leon once and for all.
