Leon was merely a man and since he was single, he could not be immune to her charm.

Before he knew it, Cynthia left a mark in his heart and as their relationship progressed, the two realized that they meant more than friends to one another even though they were not officially dating.

So long as Leon agreed, Cynthia would happily become his girlfriend, but he knew that Iris remained to be the love of his life and he could not bring himself to accept Cynthia’s feelings.

Despite his reluctance, Cynthia was happy with their progress regardless.

She knew that Leon was still recovering from the breakup with Iris and was in no rush to start a new relationship. She had the time and patience to wait until he forgot about Iris before she could slip in and replace Iris.

A day before the auction, Cynthia drove Leon to Seacove City and the two selected a five–star hotel to stay the night.

Inside the hotel room, Cynthia and Leon just settled down when a young couple came knocking on their door.

The couple was dressed in expensive clothing and one could easily tell that they came from a wealthy family.

The

young woman seemed to be the same age as Cynthia; she was fair and elegant–looking, dressed in a skirt and high heels that highlighted her long, slim legs. Though the young woman was a beauty of her own, she hardly held a candle to Cynthia.

“Cynthia, it’s been so long!” The young woman gave Cynthia a big hug.

The young woman was Sandra Doyle, Cynthia’s best friend at college and the two were close despite not seeing one another since graduation. They continued to talk on phones or through messages and their friendship remained as strong as it was in the past.

Cynthia notified Sandra ahead of time about her trip to Seacove City. She wanted to take the opportunity to see Sandra and since Sandra lived in Seacove City, she would know more about the auction and might be able to provide certain user information.

“He’s-” Cynthia hesitated and instinctively turned to look at Leon. She desperately wanted to claim Leon as her boyfriend but did not wish to upset him for jumping to conclusions.
