A suggestive smile unfolded across Gilbert’s face.

“Dinner? At a hotel?” The expression on Ariel’s pretty face changed drastically. No longer a rookie to the business workplace, she understood the meaning behind Gilbert’s words at once. It was quite likely that Gilbert’s purpose was not to eat!

“It doesn’t seem too appropriate for you and me to have dinner at the hotel, Gilbert. I think it’d be better for Miss Young and I to treat you to a meal as a token of our appreciation if you’re able to help our company to achieve successful cooperation.” Ariel formed a smile and comforted herself with the belief that he–as her senior back during her student days–invited her to dinner without any other intentions in mind.

“I don’t think you understand what I’m trying to say, Ariel. You know that I’ve always liked you, so I’ll just give it to you straight! If you agree to be my woman, I’ll do my best to help you secure the contract!” Gilbert demanded tactfully.

“What? No way! Thanks for your admiration, Gilbert, but all you are to me is a senior whom I respect. I’m hoping that you won’t cross the line!” Ariel was displeased.

She expected that it might not be a good thing to ask Gilbert for help, but she did not expect that Gilbert would be so shameless as to leverage her request for help to make her his girlfriend!

“You need to have something to offer if you want to secure the contract, Ariel. It’s all a matter of reciprocation these days! I won’t force you if you don’t want to be my girlfriend. I’ll be just as happy if you spend a night with me at a hotel…”

Gilbert could not help but feel a little indignant after being rejected by Ariel yet again. and felt that there was no point hiding his true colors.

He was incapable of helping Ariel achieve successful cooperation anyway, so it did not matter whether or not Ariel agreed to be his girlfriend. He would be happy enough as long as he could use that opportunity to sleep with her!

“Show some respect, Gilbert!” Ariel’s expression soured and she stood up with a slap on the table.
