There are some things you can use once or twice, but too much and they just backfire.
Especially now since Stella had gone back home.
The guy Jasper had sent to keep tabs on Stella reported back that she had returned.
As soon as Haynes had left, Jasper wore a sly grin, his plan falling perfectly into place.
"I knew Stella couldn't wait for Haynie and would come rushing to the hospital! Good thing I was prepared in advance, or else that woman might have succeeded."
Rachel mirrored his victorious smile. Recently, she'd had to endure too many losses at Stella's hands, and she desperately needed a win to shake off the gloom.
"You really thought things through, Jasper. If it were up to me, I wouldn't have thought of all this," she praised him.
Jasper basked in the compliment, genuinely pleased. "Rachel, you're too straightforward to match wits with someone as cunning as Stella."
He couldn't help but marvel at his own ingenuity. Normally, he was a bit rough around the edges, speaking without much thought. But this time, it was as if he had unlocked some hidden potential.
However, Rachel's smile soon faded, replaced by a look of concern.
"Just because Haynie didn't go to Stella today doesn't mean he won't tomorrow."
Jasper chuckled. "Relax. Starting tomorrow, Haynie won't have the time to see Stella. We've finally found that miracle doctor to treat you. Haynie will be busy taking you for treatment, and there's your concert to prepare for. He won't have time for Stella."
Rachel's expression froze for a moment. "A miracle doctor?"
"Yeah, remember how I mentioned we were looking for a miracle doctor for you?"
Rachel recalled Jasper mentioning something like that, but she hadn't taken it seriously. Jasper had a flair for exaggeration, making it sound like they had found some legendary healer.
She hadn't expected that this so-called miracle doctor would actually be found.
