The Fake Heiress Turns Out to Be a True Tycoon! novel Chapter 414

Chapter 414: Chapter 414: This Desk Looks Somewhat Familiar

After walking out on Chase Jennings without hesitation, Scarlett Jennings thought for a moment and changed her route to the Chalmers residence.

The butler was momentarily stunned to see her and instinctively said,

"Young Master went to the Capital Metropolitan yesterday and hasn’t returned yet."

Scarlett froze briefly, her first reaction being that he hadn’t told her.

But she quickly felt it was perfectly reasonable—he wasn’t obligated to inform her of his schedule. Besides, she wasn’t here to see him anyway.

"I’d like to spend some time in the study."

Samuel Chalmers had told her long ago that she could enter his study freely, even when he wasn’t home.

Though the butler was used to it by now, he couldn’t help but laugh warmly whenever he saw Scarlett acting this naturally,

"I’ll have a few of your favorite pastries sent up. The chef recently developed some new recipes—you should give them a try."

Scarlett nodded and thanked him, then navigated the way to the second floor with a practiced familiarity.

The study was filled with pure spiritual energy, almost like a unique imprint of Samuel’s presence lingering in the air.

Scarlett walked straight in, noticing that the layout of the study had undergone slight changes.

There was a long table added not far from Samuel’s desk. On the table were some blank talismans and vermillion pigment she had left here.

He had even prepared a separate cabinet for her. When opened, it was filled with her belongings.

Besides her carving tools and a few small pieces of stone, there were new materials she’d never seen before, along with some premium-grade vermillion pigment.

Clearly, Samuel had replenished her "supplies."

Only then did Scarlett realize that, bit by bit, she had nearly moved half of her possessions into Samuel’s study.

Initially, it had been just for drawing talismans, but eventually, even her jade carving tools and materials had made their way here.

No wonder Samuel had prepared a new table just for her...

Since their dinner together last time, the two hadn’t seen each other. She hadn’t known Samuel had gone to such lengths to prepare these things.

When the butler came in to deliver the pastries, he meticulously explained Samuel’s preparations,

"The wood for this table is the same as Young Master’s desk. It was specially transported from out of town, and the same artisan designed and crafted both, keeping them in a uniform style."

"The truth is, Young Master gave the instructions a while ago, but it was only completed a couple of days ago. This is the first time I’ve seen Young Master put so much thought into something for someone."

"I even suggested to him that he invite you over to see if you’re satisfied with the study’s setup. But Young Master insisted there was no need and said you’d notice everything on your own when you came."

"That’s just how our Young Master is—quietly doing so much but never showing it. He always keeps you in mind."

The butler had long observed the dynamic between his Young Master and the eldest daughter of the Jennings Family. Though they were technically dating, they hardly spent any significant time together.

In his opinion, Samuel didn’t dedicate enough time to his girlfriend. Even when he made thoughtful gestures, he didn’t know how to take credit for them.

The butler worried that Miss Jennings might feel Samuel wasn’t attentive enough and might end up breaking things off. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

In that case, wouldn’t Samuel go right back to being alone?

The butler felt his concerns weren’t unfounded—after all, Miss Jennings was only eighteen.

An eighteen-year-old young lady would surely want someone who could dote on her constantly.

As the Chalmers Family butler, he decided he’d quietly help Samuel leave a good impression in such matters.

Scarlett, unaware of the triangle of worry in the butler’s mind, nevertheless listened closely to his words.

Once the butler left, she sent a message to Samuel.

Scarlett: [I didn’t know you’d gone to the Capital Metropolitan. Just found the new desk—love it, thank you.]

As she typed, she placed Liora Gold on the table and snapped a picture of the desk with Liora in the foreground, sending it as an attachment.

Samuel seemed free at that moment, replying quickly.

Samuel: [If something doesn’t fit your needs, just let the butler know.]

After sending that message, he stared at her earlier line, "I didn’t know you’d gone to the Capital Metropolitan," fell into silence for a moment, and then sent another reply.
