“Ms. Locke, L… Will Lucian still come back 

Wanda asked. 

“Yes,” Madison replied firmly. “You’ve got a lot of ghostly energy. He has definitely latched onto you.” 

Wanda slumped to the ground and sobbed. “Why am I so unlucky? It’s bad enough that I ended up with that jerk for a boyfriend. Now that he’s dead, he’s still haunting me. I just can’t…” 

Madison watched Wanda cry uncontrollably but didn’t say anything. Instead, she resumed reading her book 

Meanwhile, Wanda’s colleague who was standing nearby, was shocked by what she heard. 

Unlike Wanda, she was more rational. She leaned in and whispered, “You should ask Ms. Locke if there’s a way to deal with this. Crying isn’t going to help right now.” 

Wanda looked up at Madison, her eyes glistening with tears. “Ms. Locke, can you help me?” 

“If I couldn’t help you, I wouldn’t be sitting here listening to you cry,” Madison replied. 

Wanda felt the disdain in Madison’s tone and quickly wiped her tears with the back of her hand. She didn’t even care that her makeup was smudged. 

Wanda composed herself and said, “Ms. Locke, I won’t cry anymore. Just tell me what to do. As long as you can get rid of that shameless jerk. I’ll do whatever it takes. I have some savings, though it’s not much, but I can give it all to you.” 

What did she do to deserve to get entangled with Lucian? He cheated on her while he was alive. Even in death, he still wanted to ruin her financially. If only she were strong enough, she would’ve loved to punch Lucian in the face. 

Madison looked at her and said, “If you really want to take a swing at him, it’s doable–if you’re brave enough.” 

Wanda stammered, “W–Wait… What?” She realized she had unconsciously voiced her thoughts. 

However, what really shocked her was Madison’s response. “Ms. Locke, are you serious? Can I really beat that scumbag? I mean, can a living person actually hit a ghost?” she asked. 

Madison set her book down and stood up, “With my help, of course, you 

you can. But what are you willing to offer?” 

Wanda brushed nonexistent dust off her clothes and stood up respectfully. “I’ll do whatever you ask. Anything I have, it’s yours.” She gritted her teeth and continued, “Even if it’s my life, I’m willing to hand it to you. 

Madison held her book and looked at the determined Wanda. “I don’t need y Interested?”

Madison nodded. “Well, my house is Large, but there’s no one to manage it or clean it. Besides, I don’t want strangers in my space. You’ll be responsible for keeping it in order. I’ll offer you five grand a month.” 

Wanda was stunned, and her colleague looked equally shocked. She stared at Wanda with envy. 

Just as Wanda was about to agree, Madison added, “But my house isn’t just any ordinary place…” 

“What do you mean by not ordinary?” Wanda asked in confusion. 

“There are some things here that the living can’t see,” Madison replied. 

Both Wanda and her colleague instantly understood. 

Wanda looked around. Even though she couldn’t see anything, she still felt a chill of fear. 

Although her colleague felt uneasy for a moment, she quickly tugged at Wanda’s sleeve. “You should take it! It’s five grand a month. Where else can you find such a high–paying job?” 

Seeing Wanda still hesitating, her colleague turned to Madison and asked, “Ms. Locke, do you think I could handle it?” 

Madison frowned slightly and assessed her, “You have low positive energy. If you stay here for a long time, it could be harmful to your bealth and fortune. 

Wanda’s colleague lowered her head in disappointment.
