The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 1728

"The meeting did not last more than five minutes," Trevor reported. "After that, Ms. Lane left the hotel and returned to Lanecorp Tower alone."

Frank breathed a sigh of relief. "So when's the exchange?"

"Around noon."

"Understood. Thank you for your good work."

"You're always welcomed, sir."

After he hung up, Frank rubbed his chin and muttered to himself, "Does Droitner Inc. really have the resources to acquire a Bloodcrane Spiritbloom, or was Huub Droitner just lying?"

Despite everything, he still refused to believe that Droitner Inc. could acquire a Bloodcrane Spiritbloom. If it was that common, why would Frank's mentor entrust one to Yosil Darman of Kornac's Keep, who in turn kept it for over twenty years?

But if Droitner Inc. did not have a Bloodcrane Spiritbloom, why would Huub give that wooden box to Helen, who then agreed to Horey Lindt's demands?

What if Droitner Inc. actually had one, despite the odds being one in a million?

It was certainly hard to say, and would Frank not be the narrow-minded person here?

That said, Droitner Inc. was hardly reputable, and he had a bone to pick with them.

It hurts Frank to think, so he gave up on it—he would know when he got there, so he drove at top speed straight to Riverton.

As he had only brought Scarface and Madfist, basically no one in Zamri knew he had sneaked away.

And since he arrived at Riverton with plenty of time to spare, he took his time settling Scarface and Madfist into their new roles and reexamined them medically.

To avoid any attention that might scare off Horey, he sent Madfist and Scarface in through the front entrance and got a room, while he would sneak in from the back.

What he did not expect was that Scarface would almost start a fight with the security guards at the karaoke box.

After all, with his bodyguard outfit, Scarface clearly did not look like he was rich. If anything, the suit only made him look even more brutish and dumb, which earned him considerable scorn at the door.

No one even came to welcome him.

Thankfully, Madfist proved more reliable when it mattered.

Standing between Scarface, he flashed an apologetic smile at the security guards and waitresses. "We're from a farm village, so everything in the city is new to us. We're just here to check out how this karaoke thing works."
