The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 1967

"Your income? What are you talking about?"

While Winter was still confused, she quickly argued, "I've never deducted anyone's income—I actually remember giving everyone working in the morgue a raise too."

"Bah!"

Yannick spat on the floor despite Winter's confusion and laughed coolly, "That's why I called you a weaning brat! Don't you know how valuable dead people were to the hospital?!

"Ever since you started that stupid scheme of rewarding a thousand dollars for each patient with serious illnesses cured, every doctor and every department is so motivated that they could raise the dead, and it's been so long since the morgue had any bodies!"

"I-Isn't that a good thing?" Winter was left even more confused.

"Bah!"

Yannick spat on the floor again as he bellowed in inconsolable rage. "You bitch! Do you really not know, or are you just pretending?! Don't you know that the morgue used to bring in the most of the hospital's income?!

"There's no point in saving some patients—if they die, so be it! Our hospital would be keeping the most valuable stuff they can offer, and even a middleman's commission to a crematorium would earn us a ton!

"I used to live off that, but I've had no orders for over two months! Why do you think I chose this job in the first place?! Do you really think that I like talking to corpses?!"

Winter was still confused despite the elaborate rant. "The most valuable stuff… the corpses can offer?"

Sensing Winter's confusion, Frank clapped her on the shoulder and explained with an impassive look, "Their organs."
