In just a few minutes, Sylvie lost her advantage against Frank and was caught on the backfoot. Not only did she lose a rook, a knight, and a bishop, but she also had to move most of her pieces back around her king.

"Amazing!" Alda raised a thumbs-up as she watched, surprised that Frank was good at chess too.

Frank chuckled. "She can bully a noob like you, but anyone good enough would be able to destroy her."

Sylvie scowled in silence—she was the county amateur champ too! Even if it was not a serious competition, there were good players whom Sylvie had crushed in minutes too.

She did not expect to meet her match today and prove so defenseless against him too. In fact, she had the feeling that she might not necessarily win even if Frank was not taking it seriously.

"Alright, I surrender." She sighed, as Frank had cornered her while keeping a relatively solid defense around his king.

Sylvie knew she would not survive the upcoming onslaught, and Frank was skillful enough to not blunder. To avoid being decimated, she decided to give up.

Alda was clapping in approval. "That's your fault for getting so full of yourself! See? Now you've lost—there's always someone better, y'know. Try to keep it down next time, or you'd get whacked."

Sylvie rolled her eyes. "Why are you acting like you won? No matter how good Lugh is, you'd still lose to me."

And seeing that Frank smiled but said nothing, Sylvie had a hunch as to why he was here. "Now, as for you… You're not just here to bail her out, are you?"

Frank nodded. "Alda, can you contact Pax Jaric? I'd like to meet him."

Sylvie was left puzzled "Meet him? Why bother? With your strength, you should just charge straight into his house."

"You wouldn't get it." Alda smirked smugly. "Mr. Frankton has always kept a low profile, so he wouldn't want everyone to find out something so trivial, right?"

While Alda snuggled up to Frank, clearly trying to earn his praise, Frank smiled but said nothing.

She sighed. "It seems that I have to make the call soon, or Mr. Frankton would get upset."
