The youth stammered, "Pax brought me here against my will… To play chess!"

The youth quickly nodded but soon shook his head. "Actually, that's not all. I mean, I could just let you pass… but Pax said I can only do that if you beat me at chess, or he'd make me suffer. Please, you have to help me!"
