The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2487

Despite Meg's rage, she still refused to cause a scene. "Fine! We're not buying now, alright?!"

However, seeing her ready to leave somehow led the butcher to believe that she could be bullied. "No way! I've already cut the meat—I have to eat it if you don't buy it!"

"You're just screwing with me, aren't you?!"

Meg bellowed furiously. "I asked for five, but you insisted on giving me six and even charged me way above the standard price! It's also one pound less than you claim, and even then, you insisted on me paying you anyway! Whoever gave you that confidence?!"

The butcher simply laughed. "Cut the crap already. You're either paying or you aren't leaving!"

Then, he turned to yell out loud, "Everyone, gather round! Check out this woman—she can't even afford beef, but look at her getup! She clearly just came to flex on us! Help me out here, everyone!"

Many customers were immediately gathering around them, pointing and gesturing at Meg, which left her even more furious. "Don't listen to him! He's inflating the price and selling me short!"

"Bullshit!" the butcher spat. "Do you have proof?!"

Meg picked up the slab of beef and asked out loud, "Can someone lend me a weighing scale?"

Panicking, the butcher quickly shook his head at the other stall owners.

They were all locals, and since they would keep running to each other, the other stall owners all shook their heads at Meg.

The butcher smirked at Meg in turn—what could she do now?

That was when Frank suddenly said, "Not a problem. We will just buy a weighing scale directly—let's see how far a mere butcher like you can strut."

"The fuck did you say?!" the butcher bellowed, as he knew he could not allow that to happen when he was clearly at fault.

Frank did not back down, however. "I said I'm getting another weighing scale. If you really sold us short, I'll tear down your stall!"

Furious, the butcher pointed his cleaver at Frank. "Say that again, I dare you!"
