The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 619

Tracy's expression shifted. She didn't expect that such a small place like Silvaris Pharmaceuticals could be involved with something this serious. Devonte actually had connections with the Food and Drug Administration.

If they really hit Silvaris Pharmaceuticals with a shutdown notice, it'd be big trouble.

But she had announced to let go of all the executives. It was too late for her to backtrack her decision now.

Devonte silently watched as Tracy's expression darkened. He sneered.

"I heard you want to fire all the executives, Ms. Lauder. Have you thought about the hard work they've put in for Silvaris Pharmaceuticals?

"Besides that, they have connections with the water company, the electricity company, and the tax office. If you axed their jobs, what's going to happen to Silvaris Pharmaceuticals?"

Tracy looked even more upset. Besides the Food and Drug Administration, she also had to worry about the water company, electricity company, and tax office. Things were getting out of hand.

Feeling like she was in a tight spot, she decided to take things slow for the time being. "I'm really just here to understand the situation better. I'll have to discuss it with the boss. How about you have a chat with her instead?"

Judson was looking grim. It looked like Tracy was backing down. He'd be screwed and lose his job.

Devonte sported a smug expression. "If your boss wishes to speak to me, you'd better ask her to get here right away. Otherwise, the Food and Drug Administration's inspectors are going to show up at any minute, and things will get tough. You only have ten minutes to get her to contact me."

Tracy's anger flared up in an instant. Devonte was going too far, leveraging his uncle's influence to his advantage. He was just riding on someone else's coattails with his snarky demeanor out in the open.

Unfortunately, Tracy couldn't do anything about that. Gritting her teeth, she took out her phone and was about to call Rachel.

Suddenly, Matthew instructed, "Don't bother calling. Is it really necessary for something so trivial?"

Upon hearing Matthew's voice, it hit her that she had him right beside her. Noticing Matthew's overconfidence, Tracy found it skeptical.
