The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 687

Second-rate? That was Martin's favorite saying. He said it so often that even Lillian picked it up. It meant someone's skills were mediocre at best, far from professional.

Matthew never expected that, in Lillian's eyes, his medical skills would be considered second-rate.

Matthew cleared his throat and said, "Mom, my medical skills are actually very good."

Lorraine quickly jumped in to help Matthew. "Grandma, Dad is really great at medicine! Last time, one of my classmate's dad even came to him for treatment."

Lillian looked surprised. "Matthew? I know him too well! He's never had a proper job, so how could he be any good at medicine?"

Matthew felt like he needed to clarify. "Mom, while I was in prison, I apprenticed under a mentor. He taught me traditional medicine. Now, I'm a traditional medicine practitioner."

Lillian finally understood. "So that's how it is. Well, you'd better remember how much your mentor helped you. Make sure you show him some respect. When you get the chance, bring him a gift and visit him."

Matthew nodded. Lillian was right that Nicholas had given him so much help. But now, it was almost impossible to find Nicholas. He had tasked Matthew with collecting medical literature and tokens from the Eight Medical Sects.

So far, Matthew had gathered five sects and the only three remaining were Prestian Sect, Harmona Sect, and Fevera Sect.

The Fevera Sect mission was halfway done, as he had already acquired Plague Compendium, written by the sect's founder, Josiah.

That plastic-wrapped medical book was still sitting in his car, and he hadn't even unwrapped it yet. The only thing missing was the Miracle Healing Banner, which would complete Fevera Sect's mission.

At that moment, he remembered Rachel's call. While he was on his way to kill Alan, he received three calls—one about Lifeaven Pharmaceuticals resuming production despite pollution concerns, another from Rachel asking for help, and one from Lillian telling him that something had happened to Lorraine.

Now that Lorraine's situation had been handled, he still had to deal with Rachel's issue.

Matthew drove Lillian and Lorraine home before heading straight to Wealthwave Group.

Half an hour later, the car pulled up in front of the Wealthwave Group entrance. Matthew stepped out, and a nearby car door opened. Dominic, Lucien, and Leo came out of their car.

It had been a while since Dominic had seen Matthew, and he was clearly excited, thinking Matthew was about to go on a rampage.

"Mr. Grant, what's the task? Just give the word."

On his way to the kindergarten, Matthew had called them, asking them to keep an eye on Wealthwave Group. If anything happened, they were to notify him.

Now that Matthew was here, it seemed the situation wasn't as dire as he had imagined. "Just wait here at the entrance."
